Just a little correction. The Swan Crystal was the second color Wonderswan. It was an improved version of the Wonderswan color with a TFT screen instead of a FSTN screen, and a slight bump in ram which very few Swan Crystal games took advantage of, unfortunately.

I would assume not all games would need the extra ram, but are you saying that the game won't notice the extra ram if it's not programmed to? Or that there are games that only play on the crystal which require more ram, similar to how the Saturn had RAM Carts required for certain games. If you used more ram than needed for a game say the 4 when it requires a 2, the game won't display properly and will have all sort of graphical errors. I'm going to have to look up what TFT and FSTN mean. I found your post very informative thanks.

digimon was a huge part of my childhood, and the main reason that an 8-year-old mcfreaki was upset when the twin towers went down- I was young and didn't understand the loss of life, but I did understand the loss of that week's episode of Digimon.

the Digimon tamers show was like the Majoras Mask of Digimon. It started to get pretty dark about half way through. Personally it was my favorite of all the seasons.

Let us not forget the great Gunpei Yokoi designed the Wonderswan. That man was such a legend. Game and Watch, Gameboy, Wonderswan, Metroid, Kid Icarus. He was also Miyamoto's mentor, and was lead designer on many of Miyamoto's games.... We can forget the Virtual Boy though... That wasn't really his fault... :P

@Morahman7vnNo2 Because Digimon was well received in Japan since season 1, which was originally only supposed to be 13 episodes long. And it's had a large amount of popularity, dipping here and there, although season six was extremely popular in Japan, so much so that as soon as it ended the next week they started a seventh season.

There is also another wonderswan console called the wonderswan color. Its basically the same as the wonderswan crystal, but there might be some differences.

about a year ago i watch most of the digimon series (except for data squad because of the dumb teens, and most of Digimon adventure 1 cuz it was too long) they were AMAZING i had marathons of it on youtube the story was well put together and complex the cataclyst from tamer was ssooooooooo cute!

You can hold the wonder swan vertically for some games, like the sequel to radiant silver gun. Swan crystal was the third version of the wonder swan and the swan it's self was made by the father of the game boy...good little system

@1zacster GameBoy light, Japan only released. Basically a pocket with a backlight which predated the SP by 3 years.

The first season of Digimon was kind of dark, certainly darker than Pokemon. But Monster Rancher was dark, too. But you have to look at the target group which is certainly under the age of 16.

@RaizenOP Have you tried watching the show recently? Tamers is extremely dark, especially for a kids show. The show was almost exclusively worked on by a famous writer who besides Tamers exclusively wrote very dark Seinen anime.

@makedaevilmage actually the nintendo gameboy advance sp is not blacklit either it is frontlit the difference is that with frontlit screens the color if some what faded and backlit is not.

@RaizenOP Cont'd Where shows like Death Note and Tamers differ is that in Death note the darkness and the moral dilemmas are very up front, but very basic, so they make up for it with a lot of scenes of people dying. In Tamers it is all in the background and you have to be paying attention. And the moral dilemmas that come up in Tamers are way more complex than anything in Death Note.

The GBA port is the same expect Impmon has no evolution (Which is BS) and other Digimon not in the game are Patamon, Gatomon, and Extra Guilmon. Plus the wonder swan version has more music.

@RaizenOP Some of the Digimon characters are more complex than even characters in Death Note. ESPECIALLY Digimon Tamers characters. Tamers is easily more thought provoking, and just as if not more dark than even Death Note. It deconstructs the whole 'pet monster' genre and delves deep into both metafiction and character archetypes. The other seasons have stuff like that too, but not on the level of Digimon Tamers.

Now i'm a magic the gathering guy and i thought that game was way to complicated back in the day, same with yu ghi oh, now that i'm older i know how to play both and pokemon (the proper way not how we played back in the day). @RaizenOP I'm sorry,but you're kind of dense if all you took out of Tamers was Leomon's death. The whole theme of Tamers was whether artificial life is as important as real life. Or if artificial life is a threat to society. And Leomon's death isn't even nearly as dark as Jeri's character after Leomon dies. Things like Death Note and Elfen lied only ever focus on the killers and not the victims and their friends and family.
