I like this one more than the Burnout Paradise. Why? Because in this you can crash into cars and cause complete havoc, without wondering if i hit next little taxi, my race is over. (Ofcourse crashing only applied to vehicles that are going the same direction as you and are small, so you couldnt smash trucks, busses etc.)

Paradise was good, but it was obviously very different from the other games and there was a TON of more cars. The races were annoying lmao and Road rage was a bit difficult when you didn't have a big vehicle, I like Revenge the best

360 took the start meter out of crash mode at least. But then, I wouldn't have seen this funny moment where a friend destroys his engine, and still gets millions of points as the traffic runs into him if I had the 360 version. ^_^

You neglected to mention that this is the only game in the series where you can plow into cars and small trucks from behind without any consequences. In every other game you have to avoid hitting the traffic.

Both Burnout Revenge and Paradise are good games but Revenge is better because.... 1. Revenge was the last burnout game to have crash mode which made burnout, burnout! Taking crash mode and redesigning it took away about half of the game's playability. 2. Paradise has too many events around the map. They want you to do to much in the game. 3. My last reason is its a classic! You can't beat classics. Thats why I think Revenge is better. Now people who like Paradise better, don't get mad at me.

Yes, it totally is. Circuits makes the game the perefect mix between GT and arcade madness. Open world view don't have the same intensity. I wish i could play it on ps4.

I prefer the Xbox version of the game because the graphics look better and the car parts actually break off, unlike the PS2 one, where they only break off if you crash.

I really like the time when EA just keeps us introducing to some of the underrated Pop-punk bands before like Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance, Rise Against, Emanuel, Billy Idol and so much more... Listening to my favorite tunes while smashing cars makes me want to play the game some more speed and adrenaline rush. Now, I hate EA, their songs are not so memorable now, plus they repackaged both Burnout and NFS into a Burnout Ripoff now. It's like EA doesn't give a shit about the underrated pop-punk bands and they just focused more on, no offense, to rap and EDMs nowadays. Why though? How come EA from one of the biggest pioneers of video games turns out into a turd right now?

I love all the burnout games, the first was ehhh ok but a start. Paradise was great to me, but this is one of those games as a kid off the original xbox that I spent countless hours on, if I wasn't playing halo 2 online it was this on those rainy days and long nights. If criterion didn't do something as open the world then I doubt they'd be as successful as they are today. Paradise was a huge success.

They want to keep the game available for almost everyone. Once you start simulating auto death you get into the T and M ranks. It's funny because people are so sensitive nowadays. Burnout 3 got a T rating because of the "vehicular violence". And I think because MC Striker said "ass" or "hell" or some shit like that. It's funny to think that MC's are promoting illegal street racing on the radio. My friends always wondered if the people realized that there is so much possible death in burnout. :)

Definitely the best of the series (Takedown a close second). Paradise just had too much faffing; having to drive to a map location to start an event wasn't much fun at all. Neither was having to repeat the same events over and over again as they are reset for every license. In Revenge the events are, as this reviewer puts it, 'compartmentalised', which just makes it so much easier to navigate through the events and to track progress. Races and time trials are tough but fair.

Revenge is my favorite of the series, Paradise is good, but online almost no matter where you are, do to ping lag, you hit a guy and then 10 seconds later finally feels it, and no crash mode, and I got bored of it. Split-screen tournies is where it's at ;) Revenge has great graphic themse even on an older console like a ps2 (which I have) love the darkness of it. Plus the old school Burnout game play. Now imagine making an old school burnout with crash and set courses

This was a big joke compared to the great 3rd part. You can just slam the oncoming traffic. Are they serious? It´s a fun game, but the whole "Burnout-Feeling" was blown away. Instead of that i could just look out of my window and blow those cars in a takedown. Only with my breath of course, because its so easy now. Takedown and Revenge are the best, better than Paradise. You go faster, drift harder, drive more aggressive and get a better adenaline high than Paradise. I love how you can hold the turbo thru the whole race, especially going thru hard turns and curves without letting it go which you can't do in Paradise.

@lasarousi I have the PS2 version and Xbox 360 version, and I say yes is a huge difference in graphics, the graphics of the Xbox 360 version are much better, more realistic colors, better textures, and the fact that HD which improves much the graphics, but the video is blurry. and this is why you saw no difference, but live you will see that the difference is big.

I love burnout 3, but I'm not sure if you even own revenge if you are saying this. True, it didn't innovate the series as much as burnout 3, but, playing them both back to back, revenge has significantly more polished visuals, better controls and music. Revenge doesn't feel the same at ALL.

I had both Revenge and Takedown on the PS2 both were awseome. But try to play Takedown aftger Revenge was impossible. You were not allowed to "Check" same way traffic in Takedown. So i was constantly fucking up. But both had games were an exercise in pure enjoyment!

Revenge if you're just in for speed and adrenalin while going at high stakes at high speeds. Paradise if you just wanna chill around, taking a cruise without racing, races are available, but you can start them yourself, you can also co-op with your friends online to finish challenges.

It would have been better if they did a remake of Burnout Revenge or at list more of the same instead of paradise city. I mean p. city it's not bad but the freeroaming style sometimes is boring and dispersive. So in my opinion, burnout revenge still remains one of the best arcade driving game ever made
