***** You hit the nail on the head my friend, Forza 1 might have inferior graphics, less cars, no weather effects but its a older game so it's to be expected......BUT.....it's a much more complete game. Point to point races, a good selection of cars that people would want to hoon about not cars for the sake of it (i hate the old cars that fill up the newer forza games) the bodykits & alloy wheel selection was much better in this game too. The Forza franchise has become a money grabbing shadow of its former self, DLC has ruined Forza to the point where I won't buy another title, Forza ended for me with number 4.

***** I did have a laugh when they made such a fuss over offering the Nurburgring as a free download, I don't think they understand that when you have to rebuild a track because of new hardware that it's still just a track we've all seen before. ***** I never played Enthusia, I always meant to buy it but never did. I was always a big supporter of Forza because I thought GT had gone a bit stale but now I think it's just become a horrible cash-in. My brother is into the painting side of Forza & noticed that you can't paint the lower section of the front bumper of the R34 GTR, a mistake which is STILL in the most current games. The Toyota Supra which has a massive following has some truly awful bodykits in Forza, I'd also like to see staggered wheel sizes actually come into Forza. I honestly thought I was going mad & nobody else noticed these mistakes another of which is the Ferrari F50s rear wheels, which should have a deep dish to them & don't......STILL! My feeling are that we might, just might see what a truly next-generation Forza title looks like with Forza 6. But I won't hold my breath.

***** I just watched the video for Enthusia, I'm pretty sure a friend of mine had it because it does look familiar. I've still got all my consoles from the Sega master system onwards so I'll get on eBay & see if I can track down a copy. I actually bought a PS3 just for GT5, big mistake. I'll just say the word Premium lol. Thank God The Last of Us came out because I think I would have sold the whole system otherwise. GT6 is a far more impressive return to form, tho the car roster is rather odd sometimes. I'm looking forward to Project Cars but I'll have to buy into the latest consoles for that.

The 360 version looks to be 720p, but other than that it is the same. Think OG frame rate is better, fewer slowdowns. Just been playing it now on my OG, nice game.

Fusion Frenzy 2 is also another great example of an Xbox game that was just ported right over to 360 for the overly rushed launch Most launch 360 games basically were Xbox games in 1080p haha

I loved GT on PS1 and I remember Digital Polyphony saying as game storage technology improved they wanted the series to become an encyclopedia of cars featuring about every model they could. Also my Grandfather had the same 4th gen Camaro featured in the game and the RWD driving physics were pretty spot on, they got way too squirrely in later games. We should be at that encyclopedia stage now. Can't drive my 1982 Trans Am on any GT (Forza either but they do represent every Trans Am generation and the 1987 GTA is probably a better choice for a racing game, PGR3 had an 82 though, what happened to that series? I want my weak, underpowered 305 represented!!), but by golly I can drive every permutation of Nissan Skyline in GT! Just got Forza 5 (and Horizon 360 at a friends request before I jump into the full-priced XB1 Horizon 2) the other day and the series is still very strong. Got GT5 a few months ago and played it once or twice and haven't picked it up since. I think the analog triggers on the XB1 really make the games work. The DLC cars do suck. The '87 TA and 2002 Ram-Air were of course DLC so $6 right out the gate to get my two most desired cars. The '73 and '77 were included, and other than the '81 and '89 Turbo T/As, I think Forza has me covered for Pontiac goodness!

ironically the forza franchise went to shit after forza 4. horizon was a horrendous and cheap gimmick and forza 5 was a next gen only release that left loyalists with less than half as many cars and tracks. it would seem that there is a pattern with amazing driving sims…hopefully project cars saves us

Dude, Horizon was awesome. It was a different and it actually pulled it off really well. Forza was starting to get boring because of the fact it was like 'SIMULATOR SIMULATOR SIMULATOR SIMULATOR SIIMULATOR', Horizon simply refreshed the series a little bit.

NA. anyone who played Forza 4 had certain expectations for Horizon because of how they marketed it pre-release. that greenwalt guy from turn 10 kept telling us it was an open world forza. it wasn't. it was a very half-assed mediocre arcade driver that had zero re-playability. literally once you beat it, there was nothing to do with the game except the same story line races. so much so that they introduced that 1000club add on where you had 5 assignments for each car in the game. assignments like smash 10 sign poles! wtf is that??lol it was a marketing ploy to keep us interested and giving them money. and it worked. its wack when a company does that to their fans but anyone who plays video games knows that every couple years all companies have something like this that they do.

This game was my jam when I was a kid. One of the most unique features it had was that you could teach the game how you drive and it would use your driving patterns and drive for you on the long 50 lap races

Like the GNX? Watch the TV show "Life". The cop drives one and loves it. I have a copy of the original Forza. And made sure mine gas the printed sticker on the left side of the cover that says: " Better than Gran Turismo 4 - Electronic Gaming Monthly". But yea, Forza 1 is still looks good today. And is the most ambitious Forza of the series. As is Forza 2. After that only the graphics and sounds got prettier. content got thinner. The perfect Forza game would have all cars, tracks, body kits/spoilers, rims, features of all forzas combined. Including Storefront, Auction House, weather, day & night racing, more creative freedom and finally a functioning pit crew.

awesome game. still got my xbox setup & use it more than my xbox one. games are awful now, cost way too much,take way too long to install & update, so much left out they are not worth the money. won't even be worth buying ps4 & xbox one games cheap as pre-owned cos you still have to get the dlc stuff extra.get an old ps2, ps3, xbox360 or xbox & enjoy collecting & playing old games or get into emulation of c64, amiga, spectrum etc. way more fun than modern games. plus its nice in a way to give old games a bit of the love & credit they deserve.

The original X-box was an amazing machine and was so powerful. I mean the graphics are still decent today. I had so much hope for X-Box going forward but man did they drop the ball. Decided after they built a loyal following to just start cutting costs cause people would buy them anyway. I mean the 360 had a 45% failure rate and yet people still purchased it. What incentive does Microsoft have to be cutting edge or put in quality parts when people are that blind? The original X-box was so good cause they had to get their foot in the door.

05:18 -- You'd advice us to skip this and get 2 onwards huh? There's kind of a teensy-weensy problem here. Like the fact that the Above Game was for XBOX, where as everything else sans 5. was for the X360, and 5 is yet to come out for the Xbone. Now as an XBOX owner at the time, you'd have expected me to eventually jump into the X360. Which I did... Only to have it die on me... RRoD. The Second X360 I got a while after that. Also died from RRoD. So I did the only sensable thing, and got the PS3. Which STILL ***ING WORKS! Along with my 12 Year old XBOX! So unless I missed something here... Perhaps you'd care to explain this part of your Review? Cause I'm sure F2 can not play on the XBOX...

I remember this game had hardly any technical issues, framerate was solid during the races (30FPS), so your problems are probably related to the 360 emulation, I used to play both this and GT4, I played a lot more Forza... GT biggest advantage was the framerate (60FPS), but I used to like driving better on forza, also I could play around with Porches like the 550, Carrera RS... technically is a lot more evolved than GT I think... and it was their first attempt.

I'm glad you decided to give the original Forza a try, it has things that the newer games in the series lack and I can't recommend it enough. Of all the Forza games I have this is the one I keep coming back to, the rest collect dust. I may actually do a nasty and get rid of them. I almost never sell games no matter how bad they are but Forza 2 and the rest of the sequels just waste space for me, so they may become the first exceptions to my no-sell rule.

Apparently you didn't pay attention or finish watching the video. He CLEARLY states in the beginning that he loves Gran Turismo. All he said, in short, is that he's impatient for the next installment, seeing as it's been years since Gran Turismo 5's release. Apparently he hasn't heard of the rumors of a new Gran Turismo that's to hit the PS3/PS4 this year. But he'll know when it's out. And then he'll review it. :)

I'm glad you don't drive your El Camino like that in real life. And I know you don't, because you're alve. Maybe someday I'll get a 360 to play Forza, the fighting games and the shmups. For now I'll stick to my PS2. I can get all of that dirt cheap. And soon people will almost giving away all the 360 stuff when the next gen comes up. Forza 4, i see you then.

You can get the El Camino on Forza 4. But I think it's DLC. Correct me if I'm wrong, other Forza Enthusiasts.

Man I hope a Forza Horizon 2 comes to the 360.. I didn't pick up the original cause I felt (despite the sheer number of cars, events, roads and physics/gameplay etc) the size of the world would constantly haunt my desire to immerse myself with the "wide open roads" I was looking for. The demo felt microscopic and I was broken to see that the rest of the map didn't expand significantly further. I mean just gimme the same game with TDU's map size and I'll pick it up instantly. Should I get FH??
