+nickwick35 sadly, after spending about ten hours with it, I realized how incredibly slow progression is in the game. The battle system may look cool at first, but really it's incredibly generic and tedious. I thought I'd like it, but the game is just too generic except for the art style.

Thank you for uploading this video! I am an absolute fan of Classic Game Room. I think their reviews are superb. The dude that speaks during the video reviews absolutely rocks! He is so funny. Sometimes even when he's giving a compliment to the game he sounds like he hates it. My favourite thing about the CGR reviews is that this guy is really direct. He always does a really complete research of the game he is reviewing, and he's not afraid of saying a game suck. This dude is informative.

I haven't played Ys 7, but have played lots of the other ones. Trust me, there's no way Ys 7 could be bad, since the other newer ones have all been so good. If you enjoy Oath In Felghana, any Ys game really might be up your alley.

I bought this game a couple years ago but I'm finally getting around to play it. Even though it's a grind-fest it's a really great "old school" RPG. Also, Atlus did a great job localizing it. I can't wait for Growlanser Wayfarer of Time on the PSP this summer!

I gave this game a chance, but it seemed to me that no matter how much i levelled up, the characters seemed to do no more damage. I agree that the art style and the sprites and the voice work and the witty dialogue are all positive points. but if i find that i don't seem to be getting anywhere with my leveling up, then i'm gonna stop playing because i feel like nothing i do really matters. oh well. Maybe i'll give it another go. Thanks CGR!

I play it on iPod. Love the ambush. Hate not ambushing. Hate the reversing controls. Love cutscenes. Storyline isn't too bad either. Hate the sidequests. Damn you Engle...something...

@Poonard obviously your idea is very right. main problem is of course that the psp platform had the UMD drive before, and the GO doesn't have it anymore, so can't play those anymore and its not like, you can somehow register them and then download them for free because you own them PSPGo failed horribly as it should. But its of course true, EVENTUALLY everything will be virtual: steam, PSN, Xbox Live, OnLive, whatever

Dusted off my PSP collection and found this game in there. Even in 2020 it's pretty nice; must say the difficulty spikes are a bit jarring, but it's nothing too bad.

hexyz force is a amazing rpg, i just got started and so far is cool, the plot is a little cliche but the lore of the game is great, it also has a nice gameplay twists and 2 different stories with different characters and locations

PSP may be the most underrated game system ever. I must have over 40 great games for it that more than hold up to my PS3 collection. In fact, I play PSP a great deal more than my PS2/PS3...

@@1HeatWalkI think my favorite game is Valkyria Chronicles 2.. I even have the dlc for it but some of it seemed to have expired.. Thankfully I have it all on Vita for some reason.. Also highly recommend the God of War prequels and other top tier stuff like Syphon Filter.. You can also play many ps1 titles or revised remakes like the FF IV collection.. Just today I tried Vagrant Story for the first time.. There’s also Final Fantasy Tactics which is related.. But if you’re gonna play that start with something a little lighter like Jeanne DArc which is magnificent

Most rpg's doesn't take nearly 100+ hours if you have any idea about what you are doing. And no, children aren't the only ones who have time to spend on games. It's all about how you manage it and what you want to do. To provide these kind of games to both portable and home systems would be the best choice since everyone would get what they want.

It's not Oath Of Felghana 3, it's Oath In Felghana... and it's a remake of Ys III. However, you're right. I have it on PC, including the English patch, and it's quite good. Although, all the newer Ys games are great, not just this one?

Honestly they could just release them all on handheld, home consoles and pc and make a lot more people happy and make tons of money at the same time. It's really not all that fun to play a game on a screen that's just a few inches at best when you could play it on a full size computer monitor or tv. It is also more or less hopeless to play handheld games together with friends since it makes it so much harder to see for everyone.

Sony is talking about doing a trade in program for UMDs. Aswell I wouldn't waste space on my psp fpr a linear adventure and would perfer the umd to pack it away when I'm done playing it or trade it with a friend.

Wow!! Games like this or Odin Sphere show, that we need more handrawn graphics. With todays console technologie those graphics are so absolutely stunning. But maybe the problem is, that today polygon graphics have much lower production costs than handrawn ones, so the producers rather do some crappy "modern technology" polygons than "oldscool" sprites. Not that polgon graphics are bad in general.

Even the first party titles have in many places began declining horribly. Most of the awesome games these days are made by smaller studios or indie developers. Even the Zelda and Mario titles were way better before than they are now. I haven't really heard anyone claiming that any of the later games in those series were the best of them all.

But still, think of amazing ps3 exclusives like uncharted, god of war, the disgaea series (and the zelda and mario games for the wii are pretty amazing too i.m.o.) Broaden your horizon, look through that pile of cod's and skyrim and you'll find some awesome games on home consoles too!
