"The ground is sparse" Yeahhhh, that was pretty much my worry about this game. Having not played it, and seeing that it's free on 360 in a few days(with gold), I wanted to see how it is. The thing is, once I heard about the overly huge map, my first thought was "there's no way they filled the entire map with stuff." And, it seems I was right. Personally, I don't understand the point of having a huge map, if you can't fill it. Why not make the map a bit smaller, to allow you to add more detail to everything? Or to add more stuff to do? Or at least to compact the stuff there is to do, into a smaller area, to make it seem less empty? And I could just imagine it's even worse on console. Now, as said, I haven't played it yet, so it might not be THAT bad. But I already get the feeling I'm going to be flying/driving/running through large, mostly-empty areas, on my way to the actual stuff. Not to mention, I highly doubt every single asset in the game is custom made for that area. So I get the feeling there's a lot of really similar areas copy/pasted around the map.

***** It's fun so far. I'm a bit disappointed with how useless vehicles are. Just grappling around with your parachute is faster and more convenient than using a car. Even flying vehicles aren't a huge deal when you can get pretty much anywhere with the grappling hook and parachute. That and the whole copy/pasted locations get a bit old. I've done the same radio tower thing about 5 times in different locations. There's not much variety to some of the locations. It's still fun enough. I can't see me playing it for a long time though. I get bored with it after a few missions or locations, and need to take a break. Then again, I'm still fairly early in the game, so it might pick up later on, but all I can talk about is what I've seen.

+TXF The game is pretty damn fun! There's so much to explore, finding Faction items, Vehicles parts, destroying radio towers, etc. I'm at 31 hours of gameplay and only 27% of completion. And I did like the combat, to be honest, the ragdoll physics are pretty damn satisfying :D

Not only that, but he puts humor into these reviews, and is exactly why he says random things. Its because he lightens up, instead of bashing the game at every possible conceivable angle. Another reviewer like this exists. The AVGN. And humor is all he puts towards his reviews.

Not only does the game look sharper than the first one, but that grapling hook seems to make combat against multiple enemies less overwhelming. The tools are there. Great detailed, and informative review I will look for a copy.

This is my pick for most enjoyable game of 2010, and I didn't even finish the storyline. What it really needs though is fully developed towns with stores, NPCs to interact with and *gasp* building interiors. The three main things I want from any sandbox game. That would really make this an 11/10 game.

you can download a mod for the demo that you get off of steam that unlocks the entire map makes every vehicle and weapon appear in the blackmarket for free and takes away the demo timer theres no cities to destroy but whatever you can find it here on youtube.

I download this game on PC and i play with Maxed out settings it looks awesome and the gameplay is good too..When in the air before i hit the ground i use the grappling hook to keep me up in the air continuously so i never hit the ground ...Its a great & fun game when your flying in the air ...

The flying is hard to control on PC ob keyboard but if you got a controller maybe its different....

@TheRobson61 there not really that different, the grappling hook grabs things and pulls them towards you, so does the whipfist. you can also attack with both, and hijack a helicopter... with both. they both look different but are fairly similar in the way you use them in each game...

Some games feel like work to unlock items and upgrades. NOT AT ALL w/JC2. I just kept playing because it was so much fun and beautiful to look at. Then noticed all my weapons and vehicles were unlocked. In the video he leaves out the fun you can have with 20 upgraded C4's (you get to use them to good use in Holy Smokes mission) and grappling two things/enemies together. My only complaints is that aircraft roll too easily and it's difficult to control them correctly. Also respawning nemies sux 2.

This reminds me of Mercenaries 2: world in flames and Red Guerilla faction so much. I loved just cause 1 even though it did get a bit repettive -_- I really hope you can spawn like agency vehicles on this one like that tiny copter in the first one. Agreed, great game. Its my fall back game. Burned out on halo or gears, perfect fall back game. I really enjoy driving vehicals off stuff. Have black market deliver a car on top of a building, and enjoy the crash into troops on the bottom. Not to mention, grapple bodies to gas tanks or to the back of vehicals. Good stuff.

If you're not using the grappling hook when fighting baddies (and just using guns), you're missing half of the combat system (and it's more important on higher difficulties). I think this is why the gun combat is a little downplayed in this, just because it's only one aspect of a bigger combat system. Great review nonetheless though, and excellent footage of the game. This is why I love CGR so much.
