Review Part 1 of 3: Classic Game Room reviews TIMESPLITTERS: FUTURE PERFECT for the Playstation 2 PS2 video game system from Free Radical and EA released in 2005. Time Splitters is an amazing series of first person shooters FPS designed by Free Radical. TS Future Perfect is the third in the series and possibly the best. You play as Cortez sent from the future to the past, then present, and future, back to the past, and future, and you get the idea. It's an awesome game for shooting game fans who want a fun story and great action. Originally Timesplitters had an amazing online function but it was cancelled and discontinued a few months ago and is no longer hosted on the servers (which SUCKS). CGRHD is eagery awaiting a new Timesplitters on the Playstation 3 PS3 or Xbox 360. We demand Timesplitters 4!! MAKE IT FASTER. I think Free Radical is making that game HAZE and we're getting that as soon as possible, but Timesplitters is what we want around here. I want to play as Robofish and shoot Ninja Monkey and Mr. Giggles and the Gingerbread Man. TSFP also came out on the Xbox.

Future Perfect is an excellent game and the story is fantastic. It is extremely memorable. More content than the other two games, the most powerful editor of all of them. I just wish that this one was slightly faster paced - it seems a little slower than the other two.

Killzone, Red Faction, Bioshock and the first Halo are my favorite FPS games of all time. I have not played this version of time splitters but this review made me log onto Ebay and buy it. The Half Life Series is Awesome as well!

I love this game, I miss it so much. I remember me and my friend used to play what I called insane duck hunt where it be me and him versus shit tons of duck bots on the hardest difficulty with just snipers on the ice level.... it got fucking crazy ugh so many memories.

"Bite my crunchy brown ass" best quote in videogame history Anyway... what I don't understand is the fact that Crytek doesn't want to develop Timesplitters 4, but on their site (if you go to the section with all their different studios) there is this description for the Nottingham (= Free Radical Design) studio: "Crytek Nottingham was founded in 2009, comprising a highly talented and experienced team, formerly Free Radical, the creators of the TimeSplitters franchise." Why are they bragging with the fact that Crytek UK made the Timesplitters series? While Crytek UK was denied to make a sequel to the series (The trilogy that generally scored higher than the Crysis trilogy.......). It's like throwing all your gold in the toilet and then flush it away! I just don't understand....................

To be honest i've not tried, its been years since I last played it. I'm just glad they (Free Radical Design) finally finished HAZE now so they can go full steam on finishing Timesplitters 4. I've spoken to the creator, David Doak a few time too, really nice guy.

Even if games like COD or Halo like to claim a hardcore perspective when it comes to FPS they still don't match the style and fun that the timesplitter series has, COD fans are obsessed with realism, COD lacks the adventure and intuitive atmosphere that this game has, shooters need to dazzle with creative surroundings.

It is a game that focuses on being too realistic, the game is all typical military soldier atmosphere, apart from extinction mode in ghosts the game is very bland imo.

D&D D&D I'm sorry but you are wrong. Call of Duty isn't focusing on realism. It's always more of an arcade-y type of game where the gameplay is fast-paced. Battlefield is the game that _I think_ trying to be realistic (more destructible environment) more than Call of Duty. If you want a FPS game that is realistic try Arma.

TS 2 had sooo much better controls. You could literally rebind every button on the controller and move with D-pad and analog stick. This game limits that. Fuck, why change the things that work perfectly.

That's pretty much my reasoning; high quality game, but not quite as magical and near-perfect as TS2. They gave it a bit more wide appeal, and though some aspects (like the mapmaker) were improved, generally Future Perfect is just less cool than the previous effort. You should certainly play the game to death, and even a slightly weak TimeSplitters game is guaranteed to be excellent fun, but just don't expect the same fast-paced Goldeneye-style madness of before.

@AngelusExitium I've never thought that Haze was bad. Just remarkably average for the people who made TimeSplitters of all things. I think every 'Splitters fan wishes they'd just made a fourth installment and avoided nearly dying, but what can be done at this point? Just hope they realise how many people love the series and bring it back, even if it's just for a send-off.

When I was growing up my parents wouldn't get a game console, but would get annoyed when I used the the family computer to plays games. So in 2010 one of my friends gave me his old gamecube and 6 games (call of duty 2: big red one, sonic riders, ect) then told me I could get cheap games at gamestop. Later that summer I watched this review then rushed over to my local gamestop and found luckily they had a copy in stock for under $10, it's probably the best console exclusive I have ever played. I still go back to play the campaign a lot and a few years back I joined a discord server that plays the ps2's networked multiplayer via LAN mode and openVPN. I just wish we had gotten an official PC port because it's so hard for me now a days to go back to aiming with a thumb stick, at least emulators have mouse injector mods now.

It's more than ten years since you made this video Mark and sadly not much has changed. There are still very few shooters of the same calibre as the Timesplitters series. Sure graphics and physics are all nice and shiny but game design is somehow devolving. The industry and more importantly gamers desperately need another Timesplitters. Both for the deep and rewarding single player experience as well as the fun and chaotic multiplayer. Imagine playing Timesplitters multiplayer online with friends supported by modern day online infrastructure. Stuff of dreams.

i love timesplitters for over 10 years, part 2 and 3 were so great, best and most motivating shooter of all time, as a reward for achievements in the game there were tons of complete new and greatly designed multiplayer maps, nowadays you simply have to buy these, timesplitters was so much better and more innovative than nowadays shooter like battlefield, which have nothing to offer exept great graphic

I wasnt expecting it to become my favorite game ever!, Time Splitters: Future Perfect was a brilliant addition I had avoided getting it for so long when it came out because I was so inlove with number 2, boy was I wrong I loved the story to part 3 and the cutscenes where amazing! I read on wiki there is a new Time Splitter game in development but so far its only been mentioned for the wii, Wii fps games are actually the best out of all the other systems includeing PC to and the wii fps shooters (not on rail shooters) are very addictive to play both single player and online multiplayer but Crytek UK should release this on 360, PS3 and PC to... these are the same people who gave everyone Crysis after all.

"Cortez is on vacation at the beach, but he notices big bubbles in the horizon. he here's gunshots from it, then jumps into it them. then he find himself in prehistoric times. Cortez finds out that they're 'Time Loops' , where history literally repeats itself. so he's thinking it might be Timesplitters messing with time again."

Some cons of future perfect, when creating maps you cant have all the bot slots taken up,and the room to customize your maps are limited,you cant use a sword, you cant create your own character...and not all the maps and characters and weapons from 1 and 2 are in 3......so what does that mean? Time to make a 4th timesplitters.....or make one combining them all and do everything that i mentioned.

I don't know about the 8 player thing. But I still play this game and believe I have to be one of the best on east coast. Still love this game and still believe I haven't perfected my arcade skill play yet(I like to lead in all categories)but I still dominate all those I play. I'm a good team mate too. Allot fun but I wish I could play people I don't have to hold back on. other wise they don't want to play me again...sheeesh!

This game is awesome, I love the humor in this game, and I especially love the co-op mode! I think it would have been cool if the 2nd player would have their own special weapon though, kinda like how the 1st player gets the watch with the grav gun. I can't wait for Time Splitters 4

There's an article that points out a new TS probably isn't going to happen. It's sad too, because the reason they won't, isn't because they don't want to, it's because publishers aren't really taking on any fps titles that aren't called 'Call of Duty'.

@Dizazsters Hey, a good FPS for the gamecube was Perfect Dark. . . if you haven't played that you should give it a try. I consider TimeSplitter, GoldenEye, and Perfect Dark all must haves if you owned a Gamecube.

I find this game really hard to find never seen it anywhere except once lthough I didn't have any money on me at the time but I think this game is amazing and the best one out of the time splitters games :D
