ShadeUsher Just my personal opinion, if you think different, that's perfectly fine, nonetheless do I stick to my opinion, that ranting into a mic and spicing it with jokes about human excrements is more for kids than adults, but your opinion is as good as mine.

AVGN is just a character though. I think James Rolfe likes Top Gun. James should have retired the Nerd long ago in my opinion, it was funny for a while but it's ten years later and he's still making the same stale jokes. James isn't so bad when he's just being himself, although he has a tendency to not read the instructions and then blame the game for not telling him how to play.

I never understood why everyone hates the landing sequences. You just gotta follow the instructions on screen and match up the speed/altitude to what it tells you. I'm glad Mark didn't hate on them because that's what everyone does =P

Oh no, you are definetly not alone in liking this game specially the landing sequence! My first console ever was a famicom, and the mayoroty of games of nes i played back in the day was on famicom, top gun included, which i like more in famicom cause of the music during hameplay and not only in the refuel sequence.

Why they removed the in-game music from the Famicom version is BEYOND me. Makes the game SO much better than the NES release - really! I remember another *hated* game from AVGN: Double Dragon III. The Famicom version is better - it's the same game, but there's no "Bimmy" and you receive *less* damage overall, making the game still difficult yet FAIR and a lot more FUN.

No Mark, you're not the only one who enjoys the landing sequence, I've played this game quite a few times and you know how many times I've failed the landing sequence? 2 times! The first 2 times I tried, after that, never again... You know what I don't like though? The fuel refill sequence, that one I still can't get right, and because of that I can't get past stage 2... Oh and, is it just me, or does this version of the game run smoother than the american NES version? It also seems to have slightly more detailed graphics too, the little clouds passing by while you're landing, the aircraft carrier seems to have more frames of animation... Oh and it has music during gameplay, which I remember the american version lacking!

You realize just how perfect this movie is??? They've only made one. (Until Tom wanted to revitalize his career and somehow got the ball rolling for a sequel. Better not screw that one up.) They made it forever-and-a-day ago. It's 'virtually' timeless. Movie makers for other military branches and in other countries have strived to be just like it. And video games have forever and ever been trying to recreate it. From the Atari ST to the Xbox 360/PS3, gamers have always been able to get their Top Gun thrills in check. That is over 25 or so years of a franchise, based off of just one movie. A quarter of a decade. Now if that doesn't define perfection, what does?
