A lot of people have made snarky comments over the years, saying I should have these rifles re blued, buy new wood, sell them and buy a REAL rifle, etc. etc. I love and appreciate them the way they are. They show honest use, and were a part of Canadian history when this country was a truly wild place. They interest me much more than a rifle that appears to have spent 100 years sitting in a rich guy’s gun cabinet. These two were actually out there, among the grizzlies and sasquatches, possibly feeding a hungry family through the winter, or saving the life of some prospector or trapper. They weren’t sitting in a smoking room collecting dust, that’s for sure.
