It's been running for a few years now, not as big as it could be but a nice group of people covid has put lots on hold unfortunately

Starting/charging wise If its been repainted check the earth connection to the boot floor. Put an extra earth under the bonnet from the alternator to the inner wing

I thought i was seeing double for a minute as it looks very similar to my mini colours but i see it‘s more white than beige. The interior looks great but like you say very easy to mark, I was worrying about beige being too light lol. Cheers Dave

80 thou was a bit of a shocker! Really nice looking car although I agree about the white interior, I'd be on edge with it all the time lol. Hopefully thats the gremlins all sorted now and it'll be a reliable runner, what size A series was that?

998cc it's a lovely car. Its since had radiator, hoses and electrical ignition and its not running great. It's getting rolling road soon so hopefully it will be fine tuned on there.

@@WilliamMurfitt That's making me think carb jets or maybe the camshaft, depends what its running though, a rolling road should sort it out 🤞🏻

My suggestion has been to order a carb rebuild kit overhaul that and get it rolling road, the chap I've recommended locally is a genius and what he doesn't know about classic setup isn't worth knowing

What engine was it and what did you set timing the timing at btdc? I would have removed the dashpot to see where the needle was sitting. Thanks for sharing

I didnt adjust static timing, there were no timing notches on the pulley so set it by ear in the end. The car had been running and told it was ok in spells I checked the obvious things that sprung to mind it still no joy would have dug a little deeper

there was little to no oil in the damper it has been filled and ran better

You need it in fourth gear to rock the engine round.

It was idling around 800rpm, but the camera mic makes it sound louder. I wondered this when I edited. It runs like a dream now
