Great build. A question that's been buzzin in my head. You said the brake light switch had never been fitted. So how did the brake lights work before? They must have worked in the past. I expect because the camper box was a custom build, they had made their own switch which worked from the pedal. Or some other way. I'd like to know how.

Looks like someone had fitted a brake servo to make the brakes better, they changed all the brake pipes because the master cylinders in a different place and didn’t fit a brake switch. Probably was either done while it was off the road for years or just before and they didn’t realise it had no brake lights.

Yes the new replacement one came through just as bad, not even going to bother fitting that. I think Samco’s definitely the way to go. 👍👍

I usually idle the engine while topping up. Lessens the volcano effect. Learnt that from mechanic mates in Africa. So was it an Auto from the factory or was it a conversion? I love it to bits.

@@keithoddautos5044 Wasn't sure which Escort mk it was off of. Only really starting appreciate old Fords as I now get older. As when most of my mates had old Escorts, Cortinas and Fiestas, I liked my old Triumphs and Rovers, basically cars that my family owned when I was a boy. Sadly never owned one and the prices are going up and even farther out of reach.

It’s looking like the forward clutch has burnt out because the oil got too hot 😢. Hopefully pull it apart and replace it.

Great stuff,good we get to see the brake downs.etc anybody that works on old stuff knows only to well I don’t always go right first second or 3rd time,some of the aftermarket parts are hellish ,rubbers from some mini suppliers are very bad indeed had issues with inner cv boots on ours.cracking witching a year…..turned out really well.wouldn’t want to be stuck in a mini if somebody else lays a log in that new toilet ..i bet that will get more attention than most of the odd ball motors you got…… thanks for another entertaining video🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿👍🔩😅
