I bought this to use to heat up leftovers. I end up using my small rice cooker to warm up meals but this will extend the life of my rice cooker.

I finally got one of these for me... just cooking for one so I wanted a small version. I haven't decided on the InstaPot because it is so big, but the idea of fast cooking dry beans may change my mind. I was kind of looking for info on how this cooks dry beans... I did want to share I came across a video on mistakes most people make using any crock pot that said they need to be 1/2 to 3/4 full for the best cooking results... too little doesn't cook right, too much overflows. Not sure I want to find out, but it made sense. I have a few things I want to try -- things I eat all the time -- but I hope to find new kinds of food to try to make in this. Let me know if you have a secret meal that might be new to me! :-)

I'm a single old guy, and use my 2 qt. more than my larger ones. More 'gooder' for 1-2 folks, just reduce the recipe and enjoy.

That's a good point. I should have brought that up in the review. Thanks for mentioning it!

Just got this today for 10 dollars in Walmart, and it looks so cute and well made. Gonna make some plain white rice with this tomorrow and see how it turns out :)

Do you know how hot the high setting gets? I am making baked cranberries and it says to cook at 275° for a few hours, so I want to know if it will be enough.

Bought one of these for a little under ten bucks at Walmart along with a pot roast kit (I'm way too lazy to prep one myself). The directions said to use a 2 to 4 quart slow cooker so hopefully it fits in there!

@@review_tube4938 Hello there...I just purchased this exact crock pot. I'm new to the world of crock potting so I have a question. I would like to start off simple by cooking rice in it. After I put the rice and liquid into the crock pot, do I set the temperature to warm or high? Also, how will I know if the rice is finished cooking? Does the crock pot turn itself off, or do I have to set a timer and keep an eye on it etc.? Sorry, I know these questions are more than likely elementary for some, but again, since I'm new to this, I just want to get some basic understanding of how this pot works. Thanks.
@weloveyoulord77923 жыл бұрын
@@TheJpgr1958 I don't know about rice cuz I've never fixed rice in mine but typically things taste better when you cook them on low. And yes you do you need to keep an eye on the rice. Crock pots do not cut themselves off. I suggest you googling rice recipes.

I was hoping you might have shown and explained the settings on the Crock Pot. Fairly important feature I would have thought, but no, not a mention. 👎
