Are you looking to do a pristine resto? I wouldn’t have bothered grinding the floor panels flat and using filler etc as its not an area that will be seen under carpets etc. I would have left some of the weld there to add a bit of extra strength, but it does look good tbf. I always tried to do the minimum work that was good enough and strong enough, as it took me 8 yrs to do my resto as it was. All progress is good progress tho!

Out of curiosity, what quotes were you getting for the outersill repair? My mini has the dreaded oversills fitted that I'd like sorted. Using an Endoscope, it doesn't look like a huge amount of rust has happened yet

I only had quotes for the whole lot, 8k for the welding, 10k for the welding and 15k for the whole project…… I would only guess that over sills replaced would be 1k - 2k…… depending on inner sills etc I have been thinking a lot about going into this full time as currently it’s just a hobby

I think that it's looking really good, especially that long floor section butt weld. Totally agree that family life comes before anything else: getting the Mini done is a hobby and you should try to enjoy it, taking whatever t8me is necessary to do the kind of job you want. Best wishes.
