I've always told myself I will NEVER buy a new car, why buy a dead horse when you can get a piece of pure Detroit steel and a motor n tranny, with some manual gauges, minimal wiring and you can change the oil or fix ANYTHING on it or learn yourself? Seems really stupid. At $20,000 or even less, you can get a beautiful car with low miles mint and will last you forever, no hassle, why would anybody WANT to go new.

RePaul Cheek no, they really wouldn’t sell that well. GM, Ford, and Chrysler still make the Camaro, Mustang, and Challenger, and combined, they sold about 160,000 cars last year. There just isn’t a market for 2 door, performance cars right now. The last couple of car buying generations don’t care about performance, they care about tech and practically. Sadly, the days of rwd, V8, 2dr cars are limited. 20 years from now, vehicles will be mostly CUV style with a pickup variant and heavy trucks/vans for tradesmen.

I'm very sad no more that US quality which we used to remember.. all gone Now a days shorooms displays branded stikers for only cheep collections the one with a junk electronic chips.. Even no access for the mechanics hand to replace the fan belts..

When I was young and dumb I had a 1966 2 door Chevy Impala it had the 327 engine with the power glide transmission, it was painted emerald green when I bought it. I wish I could go back in time and get it back. I loved that car 😭😭😭

WOW, I'm 62 years old this year and that was one fantastic trip down memory lane. I remember every single one of those cars as they were back in the day. I'm currently running a fully built 83' Firebird ....of which I am the original owner.....ordered it from the factory in October of 82'....got it delivered two months later in December of 82'. Loved your Tour of the lot.....Was like watching a Barrett-Jackson auction with way better prices.

Plus your prices are realistic as to availability, Barrett Jackson has brainwashed the public into thinking all muscle cars are rare. I might be looking for a 67 nova converted to a small block after the summer, I know to look here first. I've seen a few out there but they were priced in the 40s and weren't that clean

Chevy's are the most common restored as parts are more ready available...plus they cost less to restore as well....Ford is the highest then Mopar, then any GM... Dad and I restored classics ( daily drivers) I had to relocate.. he's finishing his 63 Bonneville convert and finally going to close shop at 72 yrs old.... I've got some wonderful memories working along side him ( Oh we had our moments too...lol)

I am a Monte Carlo lover. Love that red one. I've had 2 1971's and a 70. My first one was a 71. It was stolen from me in 1990. In Flushing NY by Queens college. It was painted in black lacquer. Miss that car still to this day. I put my blood in it. Body work and all.

Like 2 of you said ..A) has the eng & trans been rebuilt and how much Bondo...dad and I used to restore classics ( daily drivers no trailer queens) and by the time we completed if GM $20-22K, Ford $28-30K not sure why but we never did any Mopar ..50's to current GM parts are available pretty much all over and are the least costly...Fords are double the cost of GM in cost of parts.

Unless they have power windows and power locks,(and they probably shouldn't for the true hotrod effect you get from hand cranking down a window 😊), then they all should have ENGINES. motors are electrically powered, engines are gasoline or diesel powered. Just saying because customers coming to the shop for repairs have been taught the wrong terminology, and so there is a HUGE PARTS AND LABOR misunderstanding between the two. You wouldn't want to go into a store to pay for a boat and the PROPRIETOR bring you a fully assembled model boat kit for the same price you payed for the lifesize version.

It's actually a '70...You can tell by the round parking lights on the bumper. In '71 they we're square, and in '72 they were vertically rectangle and moved between the headlights.
