2011 - 2012 CoTs were amazing! They raced great, were cheap and safe. As someone else's comment vanished, let me repeat the voice of the fans: Those were the days when drivers had to drive their cars! The low power package is a travesty to the sport.

I agree with everything you said but the power issue as on pretty much all tracks the loss of 200 or what ever horsepower doesnt actually count for much really considering the fact they are still on most tracks running the roughly tge same speeds and lap time as before hand the although it may dog down on acceleration itself at restart the issue is the gen 6 model itself

Hard to believe what had been occuring for those 9 years since this race. Those two great drivers retired after 2016 season which was unexpected with Edwards. The C.O.T lived for another year before gen 6 made it's debut. The rebranded points system introduced that year had been overhaul, first was 2016 with field limit dropping down to 40 instead of 43, and then a year later with bonus points for leading laps no longer matters, only to be replaced with stage racing points. The 2011 Chase format would live on until the change in 2014 (shortly after 2013 spingate) with field increased to 16 instead of 12. The top 10 in points seeding would be replaced by win n you're. Eliminating 4 drivers every 3 races until only 4 drivers were left for the final race. Points in finale race of every post season no longer mattered. The Chase then had been rebranded to so called playoffs in 2017. In then in 2018, Brian France arrested. In this result, many have seen NASCAR as a complete joke. And what's the saddest part, we will never have a closest points finish championship like the this one unless NASCAR realizes they went way too far with these unnecessary changes.

Can you show these without saying who won so it it can be exciting? I had forgot who won but you dam sure ruin it with the title. No sense watching a race when you know the outcome.Jeez
No disrespect to Tony Stewart who was the most talented driver post-Earnhardt in NASCAR, but him winning the championship in 2011 was a complete sham. I have no love lost for Carl Edwards, who I personally believe to be one of the most low-class drivers NASCAR has ever had, but he should've been champion in 2011 and there is no debate at all. If the sport were still deciding legitimate champions, Stewart wouldn't have been anywhere near the race for the championship but because we're not deciding real champions any more, he literally steals the title because he happened to win more races at a certain point of the season. Carl Edwards had the best overall season and should've been champ in 2011 just he should've been in 2008. Just like Gordon should've been in 2004, 2007, and 2014. Just like Kevin Harvick should've been champion in 2010, 2015 and 2016. Notice a pattern here with this foolishness?
@yojoeski4 жыл бұрын
Oh and comparing this to Alan Kulwicki winning the title in 1992 since Stewart was part owner is a crock of shit as well. Stewart was 49% owner of his team and had massive financial backing from Gene Haas whereas Alan was 100% O&O of his team and had only his sponsorship funding which was nothing near what some of the other teams at the time were getting (see Junior Johnson and Budweiser) so to compare this title to Alan's 1992 title is a direct insult to Alan Kulwicki as a driver, an owner, and a person.

Should've been Carl's championship, Tony didn't have a chance in hell of making it in the chase had Nascar not bent the rules for their boy Stewart . Although he did win 5 of the 10 races of the chase. He shouldn't have ever been eligible. I feel that chapped Carl's ass real bad and contributed to his early retirement.
