I'm glad somebody is calling the Jenny character out. She was a self absorbed human being who used people and used Forest. Actually I would not be shocked if it was someone else's son and she gave him to Forest because she knew she was going to die and the real father was in jail or something. Also horrible choice in men and since Jenny was so poor how did she go to college. Back then college was almost not possible for poor people as student loans were not like they are now.

I just thought of something. That soldier in the movie who's family has a tradition of dying in war, is it possible him and his family may be just shitty soldiers? I mean I know they do it to get honor in battle but their are both real life and fictional soldiers who are able to do both and if anything the soldiers who survive get more respect and honor. It also doesn't help that a retarded physically disabled hillbilly was not only a better soldier then him, but also managed to save him.

Jenny leaves Forrest for scumbags. She spends her years as a drug addict nomad. She pity fucks him (she takes advantage of a mentally disabled person) and then runs off again, AFTER HIS MOTHER DIES, breaking his heart. Then Gump becomes a millionaire and all of a sudden she shows up, with AIDS, to marry him. Oh. And she has a kid (who sees dead people on top of that) that's supposedly his as well..... Jenny is the worst

Forrest Gump is probably one of the most reactionary movies ever made. Going through life being an oblivious idiot is a virtue, as long as you're good at football. Don't question anything or get involved with political or social dissent, otherwise you'll be a miserable drug addict who dies from AIDS. Just stick to being an unquestioning idiot, and massive success will fall upon you by chance as you retire a millionaire. Just ignore the fact that in order to get that success, an entire city's shrimp boat fleet had to be destroyed and their lives ruined so you could make your millions that you're too dumb to appreciate, because success is totally for sure a zero sum game and living a comfortable life is only possible by crushing and impoverishing hundreds of middle class families.

@99tubalcain8 жыл бұрын
dorpth I don't think that art criticism is something for the left, stop being so foolish. I just think it's a bad interpretation. I don't think it is Forest's conformity that makes him heroic or sees him to his high place in life I think it is, as is clearly demonstrated in the film, his goodness of heart and nobleness of spirit that elevates him. It's not conformity for hierarchy that sends Forest back into the jungle - saving his Lieutenant Dan is merely a happy coincidence - it is his deep love for his friend, Bubba. That is not a disputable point. How does Forest become the most successful fisherman for Shrimp? First, by honouring a forlorn commitment to the same friend despite the dismissal of all involved. Second, by his commitment to the broken friend he pulled out of the jungle and thirdly by overcoming the adversity of a crowded industry and quite possible a divinely sent tempest. Gump's kind of like an Alabamian, modern hobbit. He likes simple things, he loves, he likes the land - to mow it at least! - and he overcomes great struggle despite his relative lack of size - mental not physical in this case. Oh yeah, and Jenny is a degenerate boomer whore who is representative of everything wrong with our age. Art criticism isn't just for Bernie supporters but most of the shitty art criticism I know comes from them.
