PD-4501 did come originally with two 4-71 Detroit Diesels. BUT they were connect by a fluid coupling to a 3 speed main transmission with 2 speed rear axle. The driver's had a hard time with the 3x2 transmission setup was the main reason they eliminated this. Although, on the flat, one of the engines could be shut down for maximum fuel economy. The replacement of 8V-71N and 4 speed manual was a much easier setup to drive and was about 1,000lbs lighter.

Yosemite College 9049 IS A Former Greyhound Lines car. More like 2 Million miles on it. 9049 is probably the GLI number for it. Your photos show all the giveaways of being a GLI coach.
