OMG!!!! Where has this vid been? I just see it in my recommended list tonight. This is a treasure. I haven't seen this Classic Series in over a decade.

Great all time series. Canadiens came back to have one of the greatest postseason runs in NHL history. Like 10 OT WINS IN A ROW
@dannythomas4172 жыл бұрын
11 wins too. Four in Quebec, sweep at the Buffalo Aud and three in Nassau Coliseum.

Well, this made nearly 30 years ago so at least he had a full head of hair. And Harry Neale too, now they both bald or balding. It's so weird hearing Harry without Bob. I never quite lived it down with Rick Jeanneret. But if Harry did NESN with Jack Edwards, it'd barely change since he sounds identical to Andy Brickley.

I remember watching the first 2 games and thinking that rhe Habs were out of this series. I was ever wrong and im not afraid to admit it.

It’s funny when you know that when Roy’s done with this cup run with the Habs in a few years he has one with the Nords/Avs. 👍🏻

I remember first watching this on the NHL Network all the way back when I was around 9 or 10 either during the summer or when I was sick, this was my first taste of vintage hockey and I’ve never looked back since.

Anybody who watches the 1993 Stanley Cup playoffs will become hooked on hockey from 1979-1993. I think those are the NHLs golden years.

Quebec Nordiques need a reboot

It wouldn't be without its faults (language barrier, very small market, unattractive destination for free agents, etc.) but it would be a wonderful sight to see Quebec get NHL hockey back, just like Winnipeg did over a decade ago.

Patrick was fortunate they came back to win this series and end up with the cup. That was some of the worst playoff goaltending I've ever witnessed regarding the first two games in Quebec City. Regarding the aesthetics; that is some of the most visually pleasing hockey I've ever seen. I love the arenas these two teams played in. The games in Montreal looked amazing with the Nordiques away jerseys. Out of all the great series in these 93 playoffs, this might be the best.

Wow, I forgot that Red-Light Racicot actually got some ice time in game 5.

Not enough ice time, unfortunatly... ;)

@@richardhamel8439 At least he got the W since it was an OT winner. It's better than when Georgiev came on for OT just for Shesterkin in the shootout.

I miss the Nordiques and the battle of Quebec. NHL needs to quit their desert experiments and move a team back to Quebec!

I can see why Roy was traded to Quebec in 1994-95 season
@LeoWhalen193311 ай бұрын
It was the 95-96 season and they weren't in Quebec anymore. I couldn't see him being traded to them if they hadn't moved to Denver.

The Battle of Quebec. The sooner we can have this again the better. NHL is stupid not putting a team in Quebec City.

@@3rdlineplug Because of the market. Phoenix is a bigger market than Quebec, so the NHL decided to move them there and help make it a hockey market. Unfortunately, bad ownership and poor front office play made them a team that is a joke in the NHL. Plus, the reason why they expanded into Vegas and Seattle and not Quebec was to balance out the conferences to have 16 teams each conference and 8 teams each division. The NHL is a business, just like all other leagues. So what benefit would adding a team in a very small market with a population of just 500K? Yes, the fans are passionate, but if they got the team in Quebec, it would just be another Winnipeg, with them both being smaller markets compared to other cities, a free agent turnoff because of the northern weather and lack of commodities in the cities compared to others, while adding a LANGUAGE barrier which requires the players in Quebec to speak French, which may turn off some players or executives. But then again, that last paragraph is the NHL's thinking, not mine. I would personally LOVE to see a team in Quebec because of the rich hockey market and the classic rivalries they had with Montreal, Boston, and Buffalo. Plus, they actually had some success in the playoffs originally, unlike a team like Hartford, who only won 1 series in their entire history. However, it seems like it would take a while before that possibility would happen.

Everything time I look back on this series I think on how shitty hextall was. His stand up style was 10 years out of date. They should have went with fiset

After the game 2 loss Montreal wouldn’t lose until game 4 of the conference finals against the Islanders. Eleven straight wins.
