Hubby solved our light switch problem with an Amazon Echo and smart light switches. He has it set up to turn the lights off, turn the fan on, and start playing thunderstorm sounds whenever we say, "Alexa, good night." "Alexa, good morning" turns off the sounds, turns off the fan (because who wants to get out of the warm bed and have cold air blow on you) , turns on the bedside lamps (so we aren't blinded), and tells us the weather forecast for the day.

We used to have Philips Hue connected to the Echo but then at times when our internet would go out the lights would all turn on and I would be blinded while I was sleeping.

@@DudeDad Like, if I was the person stumbling over someone else's boxes in the garage, I would want them to clean them and if I were the person doing all those other chores, I'd want the other person to clean the garage. And if someone asked me to be the one to get out of bed and turn the off when they were just up a second ago, I'd say they should do it but if I were the one who just gotten into bed and didn't want to get up right away, I'd want the other person to do it, especially if they had a foot out anyway. 😉 Basically, whichever allows me to stay in bed.

I'm actually surprised we don't have any of these fights. We definitely do the turning the lights off thing, but I don't trick my husband, just nag till he turns it off. I always say thank you lol. The tone of voice fight we always have, but it doesn't end in the silent treatment unfortunately 😂

So funny!! My husband actually convinced me to hire a cleaner. I said no for Idk how many years. I am incredibly detailed with cleaning and have cleaned professionally for hotels. But even pro cleaners will tell you cleaning your own home is a different ball game, because it's not about skills as much as a mental game of making it less personal. When I'm cleaning my own house, I'm trying to deal with all "my stuff", so it's all personal, and I'm trying to organize, clean, tidy, all at once-even as a pro, it's not the same. Going to a different house, I can clean easily. Of course pros take care of items, but there's less mental clutter. I hope that makes sense. It is an interesting experience. Anyway, some moms trade services they hate for ones they like, such as laundry, dishes, floors, etc. Just a suggestion for those out there, because there's ways to make things work and that could also make it a way to be more of a hangout session with friends :)

Hue lights are great, you can turn off the lights from your phone. And you have to clean before the cleaner comes because they don't pick up your junk, they just clean the already-picked-up house.
