Classic Subaru Impreza Turbo AWD test drive/review.

What an absolutely bonkers car! I met a chap at the Furious Driving Social on Saturday and we got chatting. I said I would be interested reviewing his Subaru, and he turned up today. This was a fantastic car and I really enjoyed it!

I’m almost 59 years young, my turbo Impreza fascination started in 2006. I still love them, own a 2002 bugeye sedan an a 2005 Saabaru wagon. Plan on driving them till I die.

Love it ,I had 2 saloons back in the day both same colour one had gold wheels std double exhaust Was driving to aviemore one February caught in a massive blizzard at dalwhinnie the turbo 2000 just carried on burbling. All the way through the snow fantastic cars for their time

Brother inlaw, years ago,good job,brought 3 subaru legacy's in a row🙄 went with him once, got a go in a new sports wagon, green like that one, 2litre, 4 wheel drive, non turbo, very light clutch and steering, I liked it alot. U certainly don't c many around now, esp the sports wagon, that a very nice car 👌 👍 capt.

you don't realise how good they are until u ride in or drive one, ive had my 350bhp sti blob for 9 years now and I still get a smile on my face each time I drive it, there defently a drivers car plus aswell I've found mine very reliable even over 60k miles which I've put on it, enjoyed your review thanks 😊

My cousin had one of these impressive performing Subaru back in the 90s. The thing that put me off somewhat was the insurance. While my Austin Metro 1.0 was group 1, out of the 20 insurance groups at the time, Impreza was rated group 22! 😯

The turbo 2000 is now in group 17, while the WRX counterpart is group 39! Cars of similar power are incredibly high group in comparison, for example the Honda Civic EP3 Type R, is in group 33 for 200hp 2l non turbo. So you're getting a turbo 2l with a cheap insurance group with 4wd and it weighs the same as the type r at 1230kg. Pretty good if you ask me!

What a weapon had a Honda Civic vti B18c4 Aerodeck in that kinda green sold it and recently bought a 2004 XT forester turbo manual absolutely love it , I’ve tried too buy a green uk 2000 blue blob wrx a red bug wrx all rotten this xt i bought from Cumbria and back too Glasgow area outskirts much better nick love awd turbo so addictive

subaru managed to make saloon so ungainly that this elegant estate looks appealing to people who are 'normal enough' not to like estates....it looks like audi 80 b3/b4 with shorter rear overhang for better overall proportions. and also - there is traditional duel between this and mitsubishi lancer through all generations and the essential adventage of lancer lies in the fact the parts are cheaper, so it's better on daily basis....tuners and racers (95% of them should be shot and thrown in a pit for being obnoxious simpletons) love mitsubishi more if their only cause is to go as fast as possible for as less money as possible.

Didn't like them when they came out first. But I do prefer the first generation. Shame old Billy couldn't fly a helicopter. 🤣🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Probably lost a few over the year's lol. The flat four turbo does make good job. I think you would probably like my Audi lol a4 b6 Tdi it's remapped and chucks you back in the seat when needed. All in I think it's a good car.😀👍
