Friends, Christ is the King of all things. His rule is characterized not by totalitarianism or despotism, but rather by loving kindness and sacrifice. He constantly reaches out his hands to defend the weak and sick, going to the limits of godforsakenness to bring back those who have wandered. We can cooperate with our King by being his ministers of mercy to the world.

Faith is all I have left. It is truly the only armor against the enemy. Jesus give me guidance please. The devil is attacking me. These past three years have been difficult on me. As a single mom things are hard on me both of my sons are autistic and I’m constantly struggling to provide the basic necessities for them especially now that I’m homeschooling them. People have put me down over my situation but God lifts me up! I suffered an heart attack two years ago and still battling lupus. Give me strength Lord as I constantly struggle to pay bills and constantly struggle to buy groceries for my children. BUT no matter what I face I will KEEP FAITH. Even though the devil wants me to give up. I will not! Jesus is King and I will serve him no matter my struggles.

Yeah, sorry to hear.. where and how is the church helping you? You might able to sign up for respite care from state agencies.., I don’t know. But bf I was Catholic... I was Beachy Amish and you would not be alone in raising your family. Your husband might not want to live with you but in my old church our men would go over and have a chat with him about how he intents to father. If your husband has die, I’m sorry for your loss, but in my old church we’d let you know which man or young or old men could help role model male maturity-take your kids hunting , fishing, work on the car so forth. Turn to your parish and if no resources... 1st, that’s. Shame and second look at switching parishes. Your situation I taken to prayer. Blessing to you

The 1st thing to do is speak to your priest. No other institution is more generous than the Catholic Church. It's awkward to ask for help; but, your priest is the best guidance. He will direct you to the correct people and organization for you.

Bishop Barron offers so much good food for thought, especially with the litany of human needs as an examination of conscience for us. Since we share in Christ's mission as King, it would only make sense that God would call us to participate in the shepherding that Christ does as King, as His hands and feet. It's masterful how this homily shows how the Old Testament reading from Ezekiel is fulfilled in Christ, Who is truly the Good Shepherd. He is a King Who accompanies His people, and we are called to be in tandem with His work. Christus vincit! Christus regnat! Christus imperat!

I love the Solemnity of Christ the King. I find this time of year rather gloomy generally as it concentrates on death [which is right to have a time to pray for the Holy Souls] but this is a joyful festival [although with a very serious Gospel Message] in the middle of sorrow. A fitting end to the Liturgical Year before we start Advent next week.

Thank you. A favourite feast of mine. Once in the 1960’s it coincided with that of St.Cecilia, my confirmation name. I was living in Rome, so thought I would go to her church for Mass, little knowing it was to be a Papal Mass. I heard Mass and then went down into the crypt, where there is a part of Cecilia’s house. The Sistine choir boys were all there as it was their annual enrolment day for the new members. They sang in the crypt most beautifully. It was not crowded then as it would be now. A little known event and a providential surprise for me, a double treat! I am myself a musician. +
