@cookingwithkurt3 жыл бұрын
Hi Rezlielyn - if mascarpone is not available, you can substitute with 8 oz of cream cheese, mixed with 1/4 cup of heavy cream and 2 tbsp of butter. Make sure they are all at room temperature and beat together till they are just combined. Hope this helps! :)

Can we eat the eggwhites (meringue) uncooked?
@cookingwithkurt3 жыл бұрын
Hi Evelyn - yes, your concern about the raw egg whites is valid. It's sort of a risk you have to take when eating foods like mousse, runny eggs, tiramisu, aioli or Caesar salad dressing (homemade from scratch). When using raw egg whites, you can reduce your risk of bacteria by always refrigerating your eggs, using fresher/newer eggs for making Tiramisu, avoid letting the egg yolks/whites touch the outside of the egg shell, and always leaving the Tiramisu in the fridge (bacteria take time to multiply, so do not let it sit out in room temperature). You can also use pasteurized eggs if they are available. Pasteurized eggs would be 100% safe to use raw for Tiramisu. You can just leave out the egg whites from this Tiramisu recipe completely if you're not comfortable using them or if pasteurized eggs are not available. The cake will just be a bit smaller than in the video. Hope this helps! :)

Hello Sir Kurt kumusta?. Is there a difference if I use powdered or liquid whip cream. If I use powdered, how do you measure it? Thanks in advance, stay safe 👌🏻☺️
@cookingwithkurt4 жыл бұрын
Hi Mary Ann - I have never used powdered whip cream before. But I imagine you can use artificial non-dairy whip topping made from powder. While it is not the same as heavy cream, I think you can use it in this recipe as a substitute for heavy cream. I suggest following the instructions on your powdered whip topping container on how to prepare it. Hope this helps! :)

Hi, raw po ba talaga ung egg whites na ilalagay? Unlike ung egg yolks that you put on a double boiler?
@cookingwithkurt4 жыл бұрын
Hi Judith - that's correct. This Tiramisu recipe cooks the egg yolks in the double boiler, but does not cook the egg whites. As for your concern about the raw egg whites, you are absolutely right. That is a valid concern. It's sort of a risk you have to take when eating foods like mousse, runny eggs, tiramisu, aioli or Caesar salad dressing (homemade from scratch). Although you can reduce your risk of bacteria by always refrigerating your eggs, using fresher/newer eggs for making Tiramisu, avoid letting the egg yolks/whites touch the outside of the egg shell, and always leaving the Tiramisu in the fridge (bacteria take time to multiply, so do not let it sit out in room temperature). You can also use pasteurized eggs if they are available. You can just leave out the egg whites from the Tiramisu completely if you're not comfortable using them or if pasteurized eggs are not available (cake will just be a bit smaller). Hope this helps! :)

Hello chef! Can you make a version of tiramisu cake made with cake ( does I make sense? 🤣) I mean not using lady finger but an actual cake batter instead like chiffon cake or whatever been your fan since I started to bake my own cake, by the first time I tasted a store bought cake here in Florida I never tried it again coz there’s no flavor it tasted like sugar it’s too sweet… so if I wanted something different I always look for your recipe and it never fails me always comes perfect… I tried your ube cake and the ube roll cake and everybody loves it..
