I saw some of those cars as a boy in the 1950s …..very few cars were built during the war so many pre war cars were still knocking around in those years. Also many men with physical ailments (damage) from the war….it was a common sight . Thank you Mr OCC .

Thanks John, and most of the new post-war cars headed straight to the docks for export!

A great line up there with a good number of pre war cars to see. The Aston Martin is a nice car as is the Riley and I always like the little Austins. Great that some of these are daily drivers. Nice that the 4CV got to blow the cobwebs off too! Great video Rick thank you. 👍👍

Quite the genteel evening. Well worth the time to be there for sure. I was in love with the Aston Martin until the Alvis came in! Great lineup of cars with a beautiful evening. I would vote for more of the vintage events if possible.
@oldclassiccarUK6 ай бұрын
Thanks Tom, the vintage videos don't tend to do as well as those featuring mainly slightly later cars, but it won't stop me featuring them :-)

I lost my heart as soon as I saw the Wolsley Hornet, followed shortly by the Rover. The Frogeye Sprrite would have won except for the colour. If it had been a dark green it would stand a better chance with me. It looked to be a great location for the meet and maybe a pace I would like to visit.

Nice reversing Harley, except for the grass you ran on. Hope Mrs OCC does not watch the videos. Only just noticed when you where taking the 750 in and out of the shed and the Austin A40 was in side view just how much it looks like a MB GT. Another excellent video of an awesome meeting.

Good to see that some of the traditional Bhurtpore lives on. For me, the attraction was the variety and quality of the beer but since Simon and Nicky put themselves our to grass, the website has featured plenty on food but not a mention of beer! Hopefully, once the renovation work is complete....

Looking at those small old cars reminded me of my Dad after the end of the war swapping cars in the street in order to get better sets of tyres. His Job title when I was born was Electrical Engineering Works Assistant Manager. The place Longbridge, Austin Motors. He did not like working for his Boss. So when approached by another of his wartime bosses, he left to work for him. Besides, the travelling was a shorter distance, so less trouble with tyres. I can remember a few of Dads cars. A Wyman bodied Riley 9, Two of his Siddleys. His Rover 12 1934, London Show model. Jowett Bradford's, Javelin.

Is that three wheel cycle car with the Moto Guzzi engine a Pembleton I wonder? These are beautiful, hand crafted light weights. Johnny Smith featured this company on his Late Brake Show channel.

Nice little meet there.How far is Harley from getting his licence?

Probably a year or so depending on how many lessons (proper) he needs, and backlogs with driving test appointments

how old is your son . ? is he about ready to go live on his own ? or is he still at that awkward stage between teen and adault ? I think he should save his pennies and buy an MGB. For a sports car they are pretty roomy and practical. still in keeping with a British historic value. have wind up windows basic 4 cyl 4 speed simplicity. easy to get parts for and easy to maintain . only drawback is the trunks leak. outside of VW beetle that was my next pick.
@oldclassiccarUK5 ай бұрын
He hits the road officially next year, the MGB is a good first classic choice but insurance will be huge for the first few years of him being a driver so he'll be in small-engined cars for a while!
