Great video. Chamberlain Tractors were built in Western Australia. In 1955, one was entered in the Redex Trail. It was called Tail End Charlie. It had a special highway diff ratio fitted.

That yellow Model “A”, is about the same color as my 2005 Chevy Colorado X-TREME. [ now 20 years old]. Great show - ie, it would have been. Too bad people were leaving as fast as they came. It would have been a Huge event. Lots of great cars, and trucks. Can’t imagine driving that big Kenworth around those little narrow streets.😬🤣. 🚗🙂

High anxiety for some of the older manuals in that bottleneck. Bumper to bumper clutch in/out hundreds of times can make them quite grumpy. Looks like the organizers were inundated by the huge turn out.

Ha yes I was pondering the Renault's clutch a little on the way out!

The model A is a British built Phaeton. It was re-bodied from the scuttle back circa 2000 to compete in VSCC trails, which it still does.

The Wolseley 444 is the same colour as one owned by a family friend many years ago. She inherited it from her Father and I remember riding up front on many occasions such a lovely car. Far too many cars to mention but the Foden must be one of the lorries as also the old Bedford. Great video Rick thank you. 👍👍

Interesting and varied meet but surprising so many people left early.

Yes it was unusual, I did wonder if the imminent damp weather curtailed a few visits

Hi there. I picked up my 1998 S90 volvo this morning. Drives like a dream

Interesting event, nice to see some unusual/older vehicles mixing it with the more recent or familiar. Your mention of the new Capri got me wondering when we'll start to see performance ev's at meetings as they usurp ice performance cars and presumably are regarded as classics.

Thanks for the video. The band was Rocketstate and we really enjoyed playing for everyone. Hope to see you again soon

Hi, thanks for calling in, I'd have featured more of you in action but YT can be a bit funny about videos containing "identifiable" songs in videos so I often have to mute or chop out longer clips of music playing, unfortunately!
@christyler89065 ай бұрын
No worries about the clip. We understand about the “rules” and after all it was a CAR show

I used to have an early Renault 5. with the dashboard gearchange. It was a great car to drive and I loved it. Unfortunately it succumbed to rust, as did almost all of them. Probably my favourite car of all the ones that I have owned.

It was probably a good job that some cars did leave quite soon, otherwise it'd have been really rammed in

Pretty hectic Richard ! As you suggested , anything goes ! Something tells me a Wolseley 4/40 could be on the cards 😅

My clutch master cylinder went in the queue on the way in 😭. Shame as I was looking forward to this one. Nice to see the cars leaving at least. Not sure why people were leaving so early, according to the FB group the queues were particularly bad.
@oldclassiccarUK5 ай бұрын
Sorry to hear that, I think the threat of rain in the area may have sped up some people's desire to leave early, not sure!

I love your videos, website is brilliant too. Do you have a calendar of all the future events you will attend, I wish I knew about some of the events you attend.
@oldclassiccarUK5 ай бұрын
Thanks James, no real calendar I just keep a very close eye on Facebook (events) as a lot of the meets pop up on there. Definitely worth keeping an eye on there. Otherwise it's word of mouth and remembering events from previous years. VSCC Prescott isn't far away, same for Combermere meeting etc.

The song “Sweet Home Alabama” was a direct answer to Neal Young’s song, “Southern Man”. [ Thus the line, “ I hope Neal Young will remember, a Southern Man don’t need him around anyhow “]. 🚗🙂

Trying to hold my comments as I watch the video, but the "Mickey Mouse" Foden is a winner. The 1928 Model A is nothing like we see here in the US as far as the RHD and body design goes. I assume it was a British build?
@oldclassiccarUK5 ай бұрын
I'm not sure where the Model A was bodied, it's not like most of those that we tend to see either
@lyndatomlins34485 ай бұрын
Ford Britain produced Model As, in Manchester & last ones at the new big Dagenham plant. There was a range of models available, some had US bodywork. A lot of production was exported to Europe [as lhd] & the cars sold poorly in Britain but the commercials did very well. The horsepower tax laws in Britain were designed to make American cars more expensive than British cars & this happened to Ford until the 1932 Model Y 8hp. The one in this vid appears like a modern 'speedster type & not one with custom British bodywork from the era. It has the early fender lamps required by British road laws, so probably 1928 but the car is what may be a bitsa like most put together now are. Most Model As in Britain today are imports ,lhd from all over but mostly US.
