It IS going down in value, though. Gold is valued higher, if you have an npc gold dump that's desirable... like an epic mount, respeccing etc. The longer people play, the more gold is going around and less value gold has. That's inflation.

i bought 20 of each of those librams and sent them to my alt and i just resend them between mail every couple weeks, they should not be up for 1g now when they will be worth 500 later on. Be smart on your servers and buy them out and do this exact thing. you wont regret it :)

Heart of fire is a BAD investment in my opinion. The marked for Greater Fire Protection Potion(GFPP) is high now due to progression raiding. The upcoming raids are not fire focused so those items will be steadily dropping in price as content is cleared and people become overgeared. Remember the HoF transmute comes out with AQ40(Nature resist instance mostly)

First thing you're wrong about gold. The gold value is always going down. This is the economic concept known as inflation. It's particularly bad in a wow economy because everyday the community are 'printing' gold, that is manufacturing it from nothing as opposed to transferal of wealth. This is known to create hyper inflation. That is over time the 1k gold you horde will have less buying power. The only way to avoid this is by investing it in items that appreciate at a higher rate than inflation.

@Greg I'm not sure you understand. 1g is one gold but it's true intrinsic value is what can it purchase. 1g is an abstract concept of value. To use a real world example, 1g may buy you a loaf of bread but years later it can only buy half a loaf of bread. 1g is no longer worth the same. It's buying power is less.

So none of the phases has definitive content, they might release items in a month or they might break phase 6 up over a year, that wow head has loads of stuff shown to "phase 3" or "phase 4" does not mean its correct, some has been moved multiple times already.
