Classic WoW - Dire Maul Tribute safe run

Great video, Zeroji is indisputably the best at tribute runs and this is a fantastic starter guide. I'd like to share all the little things not shown in this video that can get you killed if you don't know about them: GENERAL: - Do not feign death while moving or while turning around with rightclick, this insta-cancels FD - In every pull with a warlock, you want to be targeting the warlock and be ready to scatter, because they can rarely banish or immolate you even if your pet has aggro. - If you go very fast sometimes the warlock has not summoned their demon yet. You will need to howl if they summon the demon while you're running through them, because they will go to you instead of your pet. - If you use a frost trap on any pull that has a pet demon in it, you need to wait until the pet demon has COMPLETELY moved off of the frost trap before getting up from your feign death. If they are affected by frost trap they will sometimes telepathically re-aggro you without LoS or range restrictions, UNLESS you are feigning. - Eyes CAN resist arcane shot 1% of the time, so be careful of relying on "auto+arcane" too much. COURTYARD: - In the 0:27 pull, you will always have a small chance to be resisted if you grenade or scatter like Zeroji does. If you want to be 100% safe like the rest of the pulls you want to use the same "petstay, petattack, petpassive to get the mobs very far away from me before I feign" strategy used in the rest of the video. - There are 3 very annoying patrols in the courtyard that can really really tilt you. One that's near 0:42, one that's near 0:45, and 2 patrols that circle the whole area. The important thing here is that these patrols will always be in the same positions if you start from a fresh ID and go fast, you want to reset the dungeon if you die so that you can get used to these patrols never being in your way. SLIPKIK'S ROOM + SEAFORIUM RAMP: - Be careful of the 2 warpwood pods in the bug section, run down the middle so as to not activate either of them because they can root you or spawn lashers. - Eyes can link to other mobs, this is pretty much the only place where this can happen though. Careful not to kill that eye too close to Slip'kik. - The "frost trap gives you demon pet aggro if you get up from FD too fast" thing also happens with the 2 reavers+Slip'kik if you are invisible. Don't use a frost trap here, or if you do make sure all mobs are off of it before canceling FD by using your invis potion. - You really want talented Aspect of the Cheetah to use a lesser invisibility potion, otherwise there is almost no room for error and you will pull at the end if you get stuck on a rock for half a second. For safety you can use a big invis potion. - If your pet despawns prematurely when you're using the seaforium charge it's because you went too far right on the door. You want to use the charge while being on the left side of the door, then when you're done go bonk the right side of the door to despawn your pet. Likewise, your pet can't be too left into the ramp's corner or there will be no spot where you can reach the door without despawning. Zeroji's position at 3:45 is good, maybe a little more left at most. - The skip he does at 4:11, I do not recommend unless you're speedrunning. It's tricky for a beginner, it adds a lot of risk since your FD will not be ready in case Krom fucks your pet up, and it only saves 10 seconds If Everything Goes Right. KROM'S DOOR: - Let your pet get frontattacked by Krom one time before going to the other pack. You want to get the frontattack because if your pet just runs past him they have a chance to get dazed by Krom which is pretty much GG. Krom's swing timer is slow enough that they will not get a second attack in either way. - HUG THE LEFT WALL when going past the door!! Both Krom AND the captains have a chance to use intimidating shout if you're too close to your pet (smash that mf howl button if that happens, you need your pet to howl as soon as it gets out of fear to save your ass). If your pet dies prematurely or gets feared or anything at all goes wrong you also can feign death in the safe spot behind the column to try to salvage it. - You can check for the dog pack he mentions at 4:50 by using an Ornate Spyglass. They only take 30 seconds to move out of there, if you don't want to risk it. If your FD gets resisted on these dogs, you can Skull of Impending Doom to kite them until FD recharges. KING FIGHT: - The reason why you pet bodypull is because of something called "linked aggro". If you attack King and Cho starts targeting you despite having done no damage to Cho, it's because you messed up the bodypull and you have to feign and let your pet die to reset. - You want to feign death with both King and Cho being >40yd away so you never get a FD resist. If you get a FD resist, you can use a Limited Invulnerability Potion to make them go back to your pet for 6 seconds while you cheetah and run away, but really you should just never get in this situation to begin with. If you accidentally let them get too close, you can jump down into the ditch - if done right they will turn 180 degrees to go take the wheelchair-accessible ramp to continue chasing you, which gives you just about enough distance to feign safely. Here's a video of me doing that: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gavPXmhoZ9RonJo - Serpent Sting will NOT cause King aggro unless you are very close (which you shouldn't be) so don't be afraid to serpent sting. The king will also charge you if you let him get too close. If you already know you've fucked up and the king will get in range of you, LOS him to prevent the charge, and wait before getting up from FD so serpent sting ticks don't immediately make him go back to you. Another thing that can happen is that you can feign death mid-charge -> his charge cancels your FD -> your SS ticks -> you're dead - Distracting Shot is excellent for last-second saves on your pet if either King or Cho are about to get in melee range of him. - There's only a few spots where you can actually eat, because the ghosts aggro you post-feign and prevent your eating health regen. Spot #1 is the one Zeroji uses (which LOSes all the ghosts, but the placement here is very precise so it's kind of unreliable), spot #2 is down in the ditch, spot #3 is anywhere along the arena just move further away from the ghosts before feigning. Note that bandages and potions cause aggro if you let either King or Cho get close at any point, this can happen if you stand up from FD too fast or when they pass in front of you when going towards your pet. - See how Zeroji sends his pet after the King at 7:12? The objective here is to use your pet to bait King into charging it, to buy you more time to keep kingshooting. The objective is not to do damage with your pet. If your pet does damage, it slowly builds up aggro, which eventually causes you to not be able to peel King off of your pet with 1 autoshot anymore. You will have to either aimed or distracting shot to make him turn around, which can be inconvenient and is not at all worth the minuscule extra damage your pet would do. - See the minimap at 7:20? Zeroji is tracking the dog patrol, which has just entered the right half of the arena. If you see this, you need to run back to the very furthest away pillar and feign as late as possible. This is so that King and Cho have to run a very long way to get back to your pet, which buys you time on your Feign Death cooldown. If you do this right, by the time King+Cho are coming back and the dogs are in the 8:01 position, your feign will be off CD and you can feign prematurely just like Zeroji did. Basically you are timing it so that you can keep them off the arena while the dogs pass. (Then, obviously, LOS the dogs so they don't asspull -you-). If you screw this up and your FD is in CD, you can jump down into the ditch and hug the high wall so that King+Cho run into the ditch to chase you rather than go to the arena, but this is very sketchy. cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/584449165656850438/704592929230159876/dog_juke.gif - Talk to Captain Kromcrush BEFORE becoming King for extra loot.

It depends on the level of mob standing to the left of that pack. It is random either 58 or 59. If you get randomized 58 - you will NOT aggro that pack. But if he is 59 lvl, he will have bigger aggro radius and you will get aggro.

Need your advice on this. It seems like your pet despawns with less distance than mine does. For instance I’ve never had the pet despawn at the pack before the bugs, nor have I had the pet de spawn before the locked door on the stair pull. It looks like not having to Rez my pet 2-3 more times than you will easily shave a minute or more off my time and give me a more ideal patrol to not slow down the run. Is there something you do different?

at 4:41 what is the macro you use to have your pet get aggro on captain krom? Looks like you're not targeting him when your pet turns around and smacks him. Also, is a fear possible during that pull or how do you avoid it?

I target Kromcrush initially, the pet does hit him, for the rest of the pack its aggroed with furious howl - yes I suppose there is a chance to get feared, the best way to combat that is to just be faster, since that reduces the chance it'll cast.. or you can just pull Kromcrush + hyenas (if they are behind him) and iron grenade the last 3 ogres

Having issues dealing with 2 melees on the first group pull as well as using my seaforium charge on the inner door. I click my charge then the door and its only worked for me one out of 4 times. Any tips to consistently perfect these aspects? Preciate the help

If you get two melees you can send your pet in to the first group, and then /petattack the far group in the corner and run past, your pet dies sometimes and it's a bit slower but it's safe.

Have the pet stay at the location u want it to return to. Send it in to get aggro. Hit the "passive ability" for the pet, he will return the the stay location that you set.
