The green post and the one after about those players not being there is exactly it. The players who wanted those changes years ago continued onto TBC, WOTLK, and now Cata. The players that stayed playing vanilla, and are there now, are vanilla boys who didn't want those.

I think the world buff stuff is cool. The UI change isn't a huge deal to me but I get it. But the Druid class change is like, WTF!? We're changing classes now!? That's a terrible precedent to set. And they can't just say they did it for druids to use them in SOD like it's not a big deal. What happens when they want to do something fie a different class in SOD or another seasonal server dien the line!? If they can make changes to classes, there is no line to draw there.

These changes are disgusting, because of what it means for the game in the short to mid term - When does this stop? What happens from now on? "Convenience" leads to retail, which is the opposite of what the Era crowd wants. This today's "alliance Rend" is cool comes at the cost of massive outcry and people cancelling subs. Era survived because of the core players, it wont if these are gone

The druid polearm change is probably making feral weapons in SoD that they bled into era. Can probably find cheap polearms for leveling. Stormwond Rend for Era is a great change. People got Rend anyway, this is less hoops. It's like chronoboon, great addition that should have been done on classoc. No purge WBs is great too.

I play Era and I personally welcome the polearm change except its kind of irrelevant except MAYBE while leveling ( and yes who asked for it in the first place? ) . I welcome the Rend change as well. Half the people in my guild clearing AQ40 do not have the gold to spend 500g per week just to get MC'd for a rend buff from a horde china priest. I understand Era is supposed to be a clandestine version which is untouched but I will also say there are some things that could be improved. Albeit that is a slippery slope. About the guild UI, yeah I'm not a huge fan but I can deal with it.

I feel like the no cd on ony buff is going to just obliterate the supply of buffs especially for smaller server clusters.

I am actually coming around to this, there are some funny things changing in the meta due to the felwood flowers now needing salv and WCB dropping in SW. For the sonflower, now people have to farm there a bit more and its getting people out of that city and the pvp in felwood is always great. For WCB, ever since they opened it up so that the entire barrens is available for the buff you almost never see people getting caught. It happens to absolute chuds but the meta of WCB HORDE ONLY is pretty much dead in the water. So we are trading alliance running to random ass spots in the biggest zone in the game, to now people constantly running UBRS. In fact, funny enough it might be that there are a ton more UBRS runs but almost none that actually go all the way to the end since people just want rend. Pretty interesting, I'm not a 'no changes' guy because obviously some stuff with honor and the boons and spell batching are great. Ideally blizzard would leave us TF alone, we had cthun stuttering like a lawn sprinkler for like a year, but whatever. This one seems "fine." The only person that should be malding is adamnmage lol

Yeah I usually agree with most of your takes, but era hasn't been "no changes" since its existence. It's this change that makes you unhappy, but being able to exploit hardcore free server transfers to put horde and alliance toons on the same PvP server account was somehow okay? You even are okay with new changes, like non-dispellable world buffs. Complaining is fine, but pretending like you don't like changes, and pretending like era was "no changes" is regarded

Definitely some weird bleed over from SoD to Era, pretty lazy to be honest. I don't know anyone who asked for the guild ui, in sod or hardcore, pretty weird. MoS being added is interesting.... I hardly ever got rend, mostly because im lazy and don't care like i used to in 2019-2020. Polearms usable by druids looool. I was a feral main and unless they implemented changes to weapons it's utterly pointless. The purge change is good and people who hate that change just like to grief, they will find something else to grief anyways.

I voted with my wallet and finally unsubbed. Era was trash but it was as close as we could get to classic. This was the last straw and I left them a nice note to explain why I cancelled. Hope they wake up and revert back to no changes.

Just curious, what was so different about it that made it trash? They kept it to being like vanilla until recently so im just curious why u called classic era trash?

@@DeliriumTrigger2the base game is perfection which is why I gladly played it. Unfortunately over time it devolved into a game that lacked the charm that Vanilla WoW had in my opinion. Bots, gold buyers, GDKP culture, and the pressure to strictly adhere to the meta created a void in my experience. Interacting with the player base became more transactional and less genuine. I’m not knocking anyone who still plays, I’m simply sharing my opinion.

Druid polearm has no effect on anything (albeit a very odd change), alliance all got rend anyway, the guild tab change is dumb but also make no difference for anything, and non-dispellable songflower just makes it so people will fight harder at flowers. rather than instantly get dispelled then you dont care about the fight

It's not the first change though. They've made a number over the years including chronoboon, pvp ranking, UI settings ect. The point is, they keep slowly adding a couple things at a time, when does it end? Classic isn't supposed to get any changes, it's supposed to just sit on maintenance mode and serve as a museum piece. Changes are for SOD/classic+

Stop drumming up drama. Rend is nice for ally, druid polearm changes nothing except for levelling, the UI changes is whatever, and not being able to dispel is a regretable change but probably best for the health of the server in the long run. Keep up your whoring for era though I do appreciate it.
