FYI : The castle in this playlist is Burg Eltz. is a medieval castle nestled in the hills, located above the Moselle between Koblenz and Trier, Germany. It is still owned by a branch of the same family (the Eltz family) that lived there in the 12th century, thirty-three generations ago. It was built along a trade route that linked the Moselle River - historically one of the most important trade routes in the German Empire. The Eltz family itself is Imperial Knights since 1729, reached their greatest influence with Philipp Karl von Eltz-Kempenich, from 1732 Prince Elector and Archbishop of Mainz and German Archchancellor, making him the most noble and one of the most powerful Catholic princes north of the Alps. I cannot imagine how living in this castle in the medieval was. That would be both peaceful but also scary.

Music for Writing! Perfect. I would like, if I may, to use this forum to thank the unsung heroes in a young musicians’ life … the high school music teachers. Someone recently posted pictures of our high school music trips on the county webpage. There were pictures of a sunburned Mr. C (wind classes, concert band and choir) and Mr. B. Jr. (strings, orchestra) both taking well deserved naps. (Mr. B. Jr taught my brother and I while Mr. B. Sr. taught my mother … we all played Bass Violin). Although you get “paid” to teach music classes and run a rehearsal, you definitely went beyond in preparations for the Kiwanis and International Music Festivals, and not just rehearsals. Taking 90 teenagers to Jamaica must have been a logistical nightmare, but we never noticed. Thank you for your time. Thank you for leaving your own families to take us to Florida, Jamaica, Boston, New York, Scotland (I only went to Jamaica and Boston). Even now these experiences and stories stay with us. I have many times told the story of our choir's gold medal performance in a little white church at the top of a hill overlooking St. Anne’s Bay, Ocho Rios. Thank you for repairing holes in the side of cellos and re-hairing bows to save money. Thank you for sharing your gifts. Thank you. 👨🏫 ❣️🇨🇦

I experienced the same this past week. It fills your heart, opens your mind, and soothes a broken soul. I have listened to classical music since I was in 6th q never told anyone. I had already been chastised by the "mean girls." When my true friends found out that I love this genre of music, they were not surprised. Even though it was not their style, they were intrigued by the affects it had on me. Thirty- nine years later, those friends still accept me for all my eccentricities. I am as comfortable at an opera as I am at a Def Leppard concert! I'm happy for you, my friend, let the music heal you!

Clay could hear the sound of his heart beating rapidly as blood rushed past his ears. It was hard to pay attention to his breath when the encircling darkness devoured him entirely. The silence that came with the nighttime made his freckled skin crawl as he slid from bed. His nightmare that night was particularly chilling. Dark creatures had scraped at the floor by his ankles and threatened to swallow him whole, but he was frozen in place. He watched in horror as the long, shadowy fingers grew closer and closer to his feet. He had awoken in a dripping sweat and a throat raw from screams he didn’t remember calling. Despite the fact, the vastness of his family’s manor made his voice get lost in the halls. Since no one came to check up on him, he assumed his screams were suffocated in their echoes. Clay was merely four at the time, but that didn’t stop his father from stamping out any ideas of being frightened of ‘nightmares’. So, the little blond learned to squeeze into a space behind his bookshelf, hiding until he felt as if his bedroom was safe again. Behind his bookcase, there were no figures, no creatures, no scraping. He would peek through his books and watch as his bedside flame grew dimmer and dimmer, until nothing but a low flicker of light danced across the wall. It was at this time that he’d go back to bed, ensuring that the monsters had left. He did this every other night.

It's been such an earworm and yet I've never been able to find what it was. Until randomly listening to this, I heard it, and it clicked. That's the tune I've been humming for all these years. I have no idea when I heard it first, or why it stuck in my head like that, but at least now I've found it.

Gracias. 30-3-2022 3:33AM

@jtbasener87402 жыл бұрын
@@boripiano Rachaninoff, you say? I really like what I have heard of his music. Do you have any suggestions for pieces by him that I could get into? I also believe my favorite composer is J.S. Bach; I just think he was such an amazing person with an amazing range of music.
@boripiano2 жыл бұрын
@@jtbasener8740 Oh, I do. He is popular with his concertos, etudes and preludes. You could get into two preludes for starters. They are: Rachmaninoff - Prelude in C Sharp Minor (Op. 3 No. 2) Rachmaninoff - Prelude in G Minor (Op. 23 No. 5) They are, in my opinion, his best preludes. His concertos are heavenly and so are his etudes. But these two preludes are great. Oh and about Bach, yeah, he is really, really magnificent. He is one of the origins in Polyphony. I agree with you 100%.

To all my fellow writers out there struggling to find motivation or inspiration, keep at it and write. Just write and the words will come. Remember, you only need to write 300 words a day to write over 100,000 words a year. If someone as lazy as me can do it, you can too!

I was designing (writing) a health intervention yesterday until noon today. The goal of intervention is to cease smoking. But somehow while listening to this, it felt like I am doing something wrong. Do I really want to push someone to quit smoking? I enjoy my tobacco... Maybe my client enjoys it as well. Anyway, Gymnopedie 1 is just beautiful.. I think I'll have my cigarette now and play my piano a bit. Thank you Halidon, and thank you Satie for your magic.

I can’t get Tony Bennett singing “Here” out of my head Here's the village we slowly explored one September Here's the cobblestone street you adored, I remember Here's the café where we'd sit by the hour And here is the shop where I bought you a flower And here I am all alone with a few faded pictures of you Here's the beach where the white sea birds cried, high above you Here's the rock where you held me and sighed how I love you Here is the field we saw shrouded in mist And here is the place in the woods where we kissed Though I try telling myself she is gone, she is gone You're still here Stop haunting me Tony! As I stared deep into his crimson eyes, I sank, He's belittling words never out spoke his lies, Dazzled by the mere title of "his", Coveted my soul into flames, Even after the aura of his dark betrayal, My heart still grasped every piece left of his silhouette, Time sat still, His touch shot millions of little spark throughout my body, I took a deep breath, Drowning my emotions in the music, Repainting the bad thoughts of you all over again, As if gravity had also seemed to fail me miserably, A weight was pressed on me, As his soft whispers became audible, I scorned his smell all over again, But it was too late, Like a dove I was once again captured, As though I had returned to my master, My freedom died.
