@@dysmissme7343 the show setlist mixes the Jack In the Box album with his previous releases, and even tho the concert has a cohesive narrative, with amazing transitions and song choices, I would recommend hearing the album by itself at least once... idk how to explain it but, to me personally, you have to be familiar with the original to be mind blown by the live version haha

Always believed that J-Hope has depths that are yet unplumbed until "Jack in the Box". Army always admire his sunny disposition but there's something more substantial and hopefully (pun intended) we will see more of his artistry.

you're so right and even though his first project hope world was "bright" and "what u would expect" of him, at the same time had so much going on in terms of the lyrics and deep topics he discussed through the whole tracklist but it kinda gets lost with the music itself because its more "happier". and at the same time when u rly look into it he loves to juxtapose music and sound with lyrical content. now with two albums out i would say both are very much him. both r him but expressing different sides and what he wanted to show/say to the world, army, the industry at different times of his career/stage in life. and just to add im so excited for his feature in Crush' new song out on the 22nd!! my guy hasnt stopped grinding, expanding, trying out new stuff with Lolla, going on a radio show, guesting on IUs show etc. so much respect for him

I don't need people complimenting JITB. I know it's a masterpiece. I knew it was a masterpiece on first listen. I've listened to it every day since it's release. I saw j-hope on Chicago at Lolla. He was incredible. The energy he gave and the energy in the crowd is indescribable. He's simply the best performer of his generation.

i think safety zone feels that way to you is because he is singing about not fitting in and have a safe place to go. so he is constantly stressed and not feeling well so maybe the melody is reflecting that. i don't know much about music but i know BTS do this often. another example is "Lie" by Jimin i really want to hear your opinion of this.

I adore this album. It does not suprise me how well it was received critically either. He's genuinely so talented. The thing with day dream though is that it looked happy but was lyrically dark so it was almost foreshadowing the direction he would take imo.

I'm so glad you chose these songs for the reaction. Both are among my top 3 favourite tracks on the album. Safety Zone is my no. 1 fave song. I especially love the background vocals on it. Jack In the Box really showcases how Hobi has grown in his musicality and lyricism throughout his career.

the whole album is just perfection it is really a masterpiece there isn't a single thing I'd change about it. J-hope surprised me with this it is Grammy-worthy no words enough to describe how genius , row and sincere the whole jack in the box album is! I'd go for JITB over any BTS album in a heart beat it is just SO RAW. I ended up questioning my whole life listening to it. He said things I was always afraid of in his own way. The album feels so personal and i love this it like reading a dairy but you are allowed to. Black swan vibes but brighter somehow, you can grieve to it but at the same time you can just tune in and enjoy.

I saw the video first time here. Was really not expecting that. Cause he really sits on those words. Finally JHope is unveiling himself. I love it I also thought JHope is the most intuitive rapper of BTS, somehow he is rythmically so creative, and bringing a theatrical performance to it, like his dancing. I feel his body when he is rapping. Thats why he is really trancending also to soul and RnB so easily. Its really so fine...

If there’s anything I take from the 2 songs and the reactions its while hobi is questioning and contemplating on a lot of things about his identity in relationship to his celebrity persona it seem like the music also reflects how he cant seem to resent what he’s been thru or what he’s built up to this point like… “sure I put myself thru the crazy pressure being everyone’s symbol of hope but im also proud of what I’ve done” So it seems to me that there’s cognitive dissonance there that hes trying to resolve again and again especially in some parts of safe zone. Its really interesting that is reflected musically and not just in the lyrics

Thank you for reacting!! Personally loved every part of both songs. I think the music (production) and the lyrics coincide with one another. So if one parts doesn’t sound like it is off or doesn’t fit, it is for a reason. It is also portraying the song. Just like in Safe Zone that one part the guy didn’t like because it just stood out or didn’t fit was because Jhope felt that way. Idk if I made sense lol. Enjoyed their opinions thank you… Could you guys pls react to Sext Nukim by Balming Tiger ft. RM. I think their are some very interesting sounds and I wonder what they would think.
