But I do like that people bring up his art and make it live on, and just watching videoes of him and hearing his music, cause even if it makes me break down in tears it also reminds me of his talent and artistry , and it slowly but surely heals the wound.

That's kind of like the message of the song, I feel like he is telling us we'll make it through the winter (of losing him) and eventually to spring, but don't be sad for him because somehow he also found his spring in the end. Something like that, I feel it's supposed to be a comforting message, even if it feels so sad for us.

"his undying wish was that he wanted other people to make it through their winter" This has always been my understanding of this song. I believe he knew how his story would play out and he left this song with us to say just that. You'll get thru it, and it might seem like I didn't get my spring but just know I did too somehow. It's hope and comfort all in one, and that's what makes the song so equally comforting and painful to listen to.

I don't know if the reactors knew that for Before Our Spring MV they used a lot of footage from Jonghyun 's final Concert that was held days before he left us . I can't help but see the sadness in his eyes. In one clip , it almost felt like his eyes were saying goodbye. Sorry for mentioning something so sad on his bday video

When some of the reactors talked about Jong in the present tense it got to me so much. I heard the word IS like it was sticking out and every time I heard it I was reminded that he's gone. idk, it's weird that that particular thing was what got to me. The clips where he's wearing a white suit were from his last Inspired concert and some of the clips were from the last show he did, almost a week before he died, where he looked around the audience with tears in his eyes, as if he wanted to remember what he was seeing for the last time.😭

me too, i joined kpop like the day he was gone so I knew him the day after it, and it hit my like a train. all I know is I literally fell depressed? idek what I had, but yeah since then I developed panic attacks and in winter depression comes back, but at the same time I know I love him so much so I have nothing to blame to him

"Before our spring" is one of the most heartbreaking and beautiful songs to ever be made. Jonghyun is such a talanted, kind and one of a kind soul, I miss him everyday but I think he would want us to be happy and listening to his music makes me feel so alive and like I am not alone, like our shining star is watching over all of us. I'm a bit of an emotional mess after watching this but I really appreciate the reaction!

Jonghyun really was so talented. He was born to perform, and born to shine. I definitely believe the rest of the members are following in his footsteps doing their own thing. I also love that SHINee as it is today, still feels like Jonghyun is there. He left such an impact on SHINee's sound that no matter what they try, it always feels like he is there singing along. Jonghyun was art and created art, and the rest of the members are doing the same thing. Minho with his love for directing emotionally provoking songs, Key with his love for visual art and vibrancy (fashion, music video set), Taemin with his interpretive dancing and tender voice that always reminds me of Jonghyun's, and Onew with his voice that works like an angelic instrument. I'm so happy for the reaction that Jonghyun is so convincing and genuine - which, the former I'll take because Kpop is such a machine - but yes because beyond his stellar vocal talent and taste for composition and production, and his sense of adventure for music, *Jonghyun loves music. And he loves people.* You get the sense that he uses music not defensively or as a way to hide in his comfort zone, but he uses his incredible gift to connect to people. He loves the craft of music, and he loves its power to connect to people, and finally *he loves people*. He loves people in a way he couldn't love himself. And that is perhaps the part that inspires me the most. His love for music, and art, and for people, and how perfectly that came together in this wonderful soul who was taken from us too soon.

I knew this would make me a mess all over again, but I'm glad I watched it anyway. It's healing to know people are still being touched by him and his wishes, and my hope is that they continue to do so. Seeing this made me tear up again. He really was my favorite artist of all time. Nobody spoke to me in the way that he did. I feel like if he mastered one thing it is conveying emotion and being vulnerable and honest with no shame. His voice was beautiful and I'm so grateful that I've got to watch him and admire him on his journey since 2013 and that I've got these five wonderful albums to listen to that he left behind. I struggled a lot last year with listening to Jonghyun’s music. I avoided it because I always felt so sad listening to his voice. But then I watched your End of a Day/She Is reaction and was moved by the reactors words. I can’t remember who said it, but one of the reactors said that every song is a piece of Jonghyun’s soul, and somehow that made me want to start listening to his music again because they are right. Listening to Jonghyun’s music is a celebration of who he is, and this reaction again reminded me of all of that. So thanks, for helping me get through my own winter and for keeping his memory alive.

I've actually never listened to 'Before our Spring', I am a Shawol, but I've only listened to 'Lonely', 'breath' and 'Shinin' ' I love his singing, but I can't bring myself to listen to it, unless it's these 3 songs or SHINee songs. It would throw me into a hole of sadness, that's why I always watch cute and funny videos of him, his death was something that happened at the end of his life but he has accomplished so many other AMAZING things. I wish I could have known and loved the REAL Jonghyun, without the facade, but from the snippets I got. I know I would have loved him so much.
