I have had this arrangement "on the shelf" for a number of years, and after a recent exciting trip to the Blackpool tower wurlitzer was inspired to dust it off and see what I could do with it - let me know what you think! My Blackpool experience: kzbin.infoNp00_0kAknY?t=3597&si=2JbEn0XSyjgRmB7A

Ausgezeichnet! Slow clap Standing O's all around. Your training is now complete... The Force is strong with this one! You never cease to amaze me, Jerry, my friend. It was truly a pleasure...leaving even the 🦉swooning and speechless. Hope you have a very pleasant and joyous Thanksgiving!

What a fabulous arrangement for theatre organ of this Gershwin classic by Jesse Crawford . . . and what an absolutely awesome performance by you, Jerry. You reference your trip to the Blackpool Tower and its wonderful Wurlitzer instrument, which elevates the player onto the stage from the pit. Well, that elevator - in recognition of your triumph in this recording - would not have stopped at the stage. No, you would have been elevated to the very top of the Tower (and beyond!) in honour of this super star-studded feat of entertainment: B R A V O ! ❤

Thank you SO very much Graham! I really appreciate your kind words. And an elevator to the top of the tower - wouldn't that be something! Or how about the elevator that also goes sideways Roald Dahl's "great glass elevator" 😂

Brilliant, Jerry, and so much fun! I saw the name Jesse Crawford on the sheet music and was immediately transported back to my boyhood home, where my parents had an LP (an anthology of hymns, I think) played by "The Poet of the Organ." I marvel at how you find the time to do all you do, and to such perfection! Happy Thanksgiving!

Thank you SO much Bill - I really appreciate that - and yes indeed - I have an LP of his for evening relaxation - I need to work up a few more of his pieces. He really developed a wonderful lyrical style. Best wishes to you and yours and Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Your middle name could be Phil after all Jerry! 🤣 As for using the Xkeys for cymbals, well I’m gonna post you a pair of old piano pedals for you to screw to the right of your console. You also need a microphone holder on the front left too now. Beautiful performance well revealing your double touch wizardry. Couldn’t detect it on the pedals yet……..😝

Thanks so much Maurice!!!! And yes indeed... triggers for the cymbals - after I did that I realize I will probably use the x-keys exclusively for "effects" when in Wurli mode! Second touch on the pedals - that's definitely a thing! Now... wonder what it would take 😂

Wow, that was an amazing performance - well done. I could so imagine a train journey and the setting of a Wurlitzer organ at Blackpool Tower. You’ve proved that a classical Organist can play this style of music too. 👏👏👏
