Classical Pianist Opeth The Lotus Eater Reaction
Today I will be reacting to Opeth The Lotus Eater. I know many of you love Opeth and some of you have recommended Opeth The Lotus Eater Watershed album and react to it. Opeth The Lotus Eater Piano parts are included on this track, especially at the end. Also, Opeth The Lotus Eater acoustic guitar parts give a nice feeling every minute, leaving you wanting more. You can also hear and enjoy a lot of Opeth The Lotus Eater acoustic instrumental parts.
Opeth The Lotus Eater lyrics can be found online or on youtube if you want to read while you listen to the track or you can wait until the end where I read the lyrics and give my 2 senses. Also, this is not an Opeth The Lotus Eater concert, only a recorded mastered track. Enjoy For Opeth The Lotus Eater Live Reaction!

First time I ever heard this song, my first thought was "wtf?", but holy shit, second and third listenings I let it time to sink in. This is one of Opeth's most experimental songs. Mike threw everything into the blender and it came out a masterpiece. The funk, death metal, blast beats, the melodies are exquisite. God I miss his growls.

@@colinclark1981 I absolutely love his new stuff. But I like everything they've got. Watershed is right up there for me with Still Life and Heritage.

@@colinclark1981 I do the same thing. I end up listing all of their albums XD. The only albums I couldn't really get into (or haven't yet at least) are Orchid and Morningrise.

Great reaction, and I love hearing your thoughts on everything afterwards. I think I found (György Ligeti) the composer you referenced. I'll be checking him out later this morning. Thanks!

See what I meant in my yesterday's comment? It goes everywhere. This is one of my absolute favourites. What you call progressive jazz I thougt it is fusion. Is that the same?... Cheers anyway. PS with the next song you'll hear Mikael on his best where it comes to his singing voice. Imhu the best ever written powerballad with some awesome keysolo.

Yes fusion is a more stablished form of progressive jazz like Chick Correa Herbie Hancock and so for.

It is not easy to choose the best song of Opeth , but this one is my favourite out of these which are super complicated and progressive . Especially I love the live version when they had a technical problems :)

The supposed different classical instruments you hear on this album is a mellotron. I agree with this being very different than Ghost Reveries. Outside from all the other aspects, this one sounds like a fun album with small fun elements in songs.

Bought this album at W:O:A the year it was released, Opeth wasn't "socially acceptable" in the metal scene at the time, so I had to wait a week, before I could listen to it at home. Of course I got the limited edition one, as I always try to do, it came with a DVD that has a bunch of rehearsals, 3 bonus tracks and a 5.1 mix of the full Watershed album. The bonus tracks are called: Derelict Herds Bridge of Sighs Den Ständiga Resan

This album, I think, features new guitarist Fredrick Akesson. His playing heavily influenced by fellow Swede Yngwie Malmsteen, famous for his neo classical style and virtuosity.
