Wow. His posture, accuracy, and touch are just fantastic. Bringing out that chromatic scale in the right hand with barely noticeable rotation is impressive, to say the least. I always end up rotating a crap ton for the momentum, but holy crap does that consistency sound great. And his body movement the whole way is just out of this world, really draws you in. Great review, definitely some interesting takeaways here to keep in mind.

Cateen’s performance is an absolute masterpiece shsksbskdn I literally listen to it all the time Whenever I attempt to play that piece for fun I can never control the tempo well ahhh I admire his skills ;-; Also I loved how you analysed his playing it helps me realise what’s actually good in a performance and I also notice a lot more things I do unconsciously when I practice, so thank you very much!! P.S. I have the same Cat lamp in the background it’s so cute XD

I'm currently learning this. I didn't even know my favourite pianist Cateen had a video of it. This is awesome, also helps me with deciding how to play it.

When I first listened to winter wind, those were the emotions that I felt. I believe that he really tried to emphasize on the feeling, and you can see it on his face. Cold like winter, yet strong as a storm. Do more Cateen in the future please.

The first thing I noticed (and loved) about Cateen's playing was the lightness of his touch and his ability to convey emotion. Thank you for this interesting analysis :) PS. A brief look at the material you analyse seems to reveal a lot of anime music. I am wondering if you would consider something like Zorsy's piano arrangement of Those Who Fight kzbin.info/www/bejne/rXqnk31pl9RkoLc (I am a huge fan of The Consouls who do VGM jazz and Zorsy arranges a lot of the music and plays keys for The Consouls) I listen to a lot of jazz but Cateen has revived my classical listening with his entry in the Chopin Comp!

You are doing great with your channel, I can see there is a sound project behind it. The only thing that I didn't like was the trying to monetize the audience from the very start with merch etc, but contents are good so far so keep it up! 12:20 he's playing that left hand with flat fingers because it's the only possible way you can play that left hand. You have to hold lower E during those 2 bars while playing 9ths and a 10th intervals. I don't know if I misunderstood what you said or you're just speaking nonsense. Why would you do that?
