Was at this game with my late father . It was a big deal for this young NYY fan. Pennant fever! Magic Numbers. Being in first place so late in the season. Yanks got permission to print ALCS tickets . Huge game. Had to wait two more years to see my first AL pennant

I just realized! This game was at Shea, holy cow! Lol…we played hooky one day in April and went to Shea for a Tuesday afternoon game. Freshman year in HS, fun times!!

The '74 Orioles went 28-6 down the stretch to win their 5th AL East title in 6 years. And I celebrated every one as a youngster.

O"s last series was vs.Tigers in 74",- the Balt radio broadcast was played in NY , we hoped (old Yank mgr) Detroit mg Ralph Houk would help , but O"way too hot & Yanks fell short.🥎
