I've been doing this perm for 40 years we called them spiral perms. They went out of style in the late 90s. Nice to see them back. Lots of work and a killer on the shoulders.
@sewforlife57283 жыл бұрын
I was just going to say that. Ive been doing hair for over 30yrs and when this perm came about we called it a spiral perm done with straight rods instead of concaved. Hence the name "spiral".
@Canerican.3 жыл бұрын
We used much smaller rods back then!

You have done a great video ! I taught the same thing 10 minute neutralize and under the dryer to drive out all the water out of the rods then neutralize for 10 minutes. That was nice to see , a lot of stylist though that was crazy but I always that a beautiful curl😍It would be nice to see it come back for Christmas of 2022 and the New Year 2023!

I have just ordered everything I need to do my perm at home. Hubby is going to help. I have long hair and it has always permed perfect. I just can’t afford the salon way. I bought white rods as I want a tight curl and a lot. I have long fairly thick hair. I bought an acid perm as I have had coloring in my hair about 6 mos ago. I hope it come out good. I’ll def let you know if hubby likes this video. Thank you so much.

Hi there, I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Good for you for being courageous in tackling such an advanced perm technique. I have two pieces of advice for you. Since you mentioned your hair is long and thick, make sure you have enough white rods (6 dozen) and 2 or 3 perm solutions. Let me know how it worked out. P.S. It's smart that you chose an acid perm; you're well on your way!

Finally, a very informative video that didn’t take a lot of time to watch. Some of the videos I watch, although very helpful and informative, have way too much unnecessary chatter (host is enthralled with hearing him/herself talk) and just take too much time to watch. Cut to the chase, as this video does!

This is the best tutorial I've seen on yt. I'm going to do this on my daughter soon. She wants a little more curly so I ordered pink and white rods. I was thinking to alternate them. I hope that will be a good result. She has typical Nordic hair, so I ordered Wella professional (C) perm kit. It suppose to be a little more gentle. She has a fine hair but a lot of it. Is there anything else I should think about?

Hi there. Check out our video on the piggyback perm. Same technique applies to the root perm. Two rod on one strand. Roll the regrowth into the first roller ( closer to the scalp) and the second rod to the perm part. Apply the perm solution only on the roller closer to the scalp. The second roller with the perm. Apply water/conditioner mixed, to block out perm solution.
