"KaNdupudichEn KandupudichEn " in Guru sishyan being the case in point. As usual Mr. GurucharaN takes us into a great tour of music - for novices like me it gives a glimpse of the greatness of Raja sir and also GurucharaN sir. After all, kamba ramayaNam and ThirukkuRaL are great works, but lesser mortals like us do require a "pozhippurai" (prose explanation), right? Which is what Mr. GurucharaN shows us. Actually the last song "Nee ondru thaana" is implied to be sung by Udayamoorthy. In the context of comparison between "Rudraveena" and "Unnal Mudiyum Thambi" , there were certain scenes omitted in UMT One such scene was the marriage of Charukeshi with Mohana , where Charukeshi, to take revenge on Bilahari Marthandam Pillai(Ganapathy Shastri in Rudraveena), demands him to renounce singing Bilahari forever. Marthandam Pillai was devastated as he wanted to sing Bilahari for his daughter's wedding At that point in time , Chiranjeevi enters singing Bilahari Raga alapana, indirectly stating that he had never forgotten his legacy and sings the Telugu version of the song , serving as a tight slap for Charukeshi.

Here in this video Guru Charan explained the entire anatomy behind musical intricacies which even Maestro himself did not explain in any concerts. Guru Charan aptly slice and dice every key scenes and associated musical notes elevated this movie 🎥 as modern day Haridas where parents revere son as an avatar. Great 👍 job by Guru Charan. I thought this episode was yet another wonderful episode as the movie 'Unnal Mudiyum Thambi' which had excellent story based on Carnataka sangeetham and the very talented Late Sri.K.Balachandar Sir made use of both Sri. Gemini Ganesan Sir and Sri.Kamalahasan's excellent sangeetha Gyanam through out the movie. After seeing this episode i definitely want to see the movie again. Thank you very much for the explanations & the intricacies of the Ragas that the most talented Sri Raja Sir had used under his direction of the sangeetham suited that movie. You giving the informations about the Ragas created by one of our most famous sangeetha Vidhwan Late Sri.G N B Sir like Chaya Tharangini. Once again I thank you very much for this wonderful episode. 100%. There was no movie of K. Balachander before or after, that had this kind of a Background Score (add Sindhu Bairavi, Punnagai Mannan, Manadhil Urudhi Vendum too; Pudhu Pudhu Arthangal - songs ONLY were done by IR). IR chiselled every millimeter for such classical music-based movies (other instances: Salangai Oli, Swati Mutyam, Swarnakamalam, Mogha MuL and Bharathi). ALL that in a week's work and WITHOUT EXPECTING any adulation (awards or appreciation from the audience). That is GREATNESS, HUMILITY, DEDICATION / RESPECT for the art, and GENIUS personified.

Wonderful analysis, and I am glad that you mentioned Sahana - probably the only Sahana piece from the Maestro. With respect to the lyrics, Enna Samayalo - the lyrics were written by Ilaiyaraaja himself. The tune was originally composed for an unreleased movie titled Manipoor Maamiyaar, and the song is Samayal Paadame. Apart from that, Idhazhil Kadhai Ezhuthum Neramithu was written by Kavingar Muthulingam, and all other songs were written Pulavar Pulamaipithan.
