I was just thinking about this and had to track down the broadcast to see if there’s anything mentioned about Burnett and Lee both being from Central Arkansas. A.J. went to NLR High School and Lee went to Benton High School: 20 mins away from each other. I was a freshman when this game happened and can’t remember a thing haha edit: however they never played each other in high school and met just a few years before this game.

I was there. I got there in the 4th inning because of traffic and some moron rearended me 5 minutes from the stadium. So we had to park a mile away and walk. But the Phillies won so that was good.

Unfortunately for Lee, he never won a world series. He was absolutely insane from 2008 to 2013, but he was always on the losing end of a World Series. I still wonder what would have happened if he went to the Yankees in 2010 or 2011. The Yankees might have gone to the WS again in 2010 if they tried trading for Lee (But then again, that Yankees team was aging badly like the Phillies).

Lee was more hittable in Game 5 than he was Game 1. He got the W only because Burnett was even worse.
