Alex talked with Glen Litke about a very unique Avery Tractor his father acquired from the Avery farm. This tractor might be the only one like it ever built. Glen shares the story on this historic tractor.

I never heard of this type pf soil anywhere Sir. The undercurrent soil type at the avery farm is just as unique as the tractor you have Glen. Job well done my fellow farmer.

I experienced a "stuck" on a farm in IA back in the '70's. Water had backed up in sand, turned it to quicksand 6" below the surface. Was moldboard plowing with wheel in the furrow. When I hit that spot, half turn of a 15.5 x 38 tire and it was down to the axle housing. No spin, just down. First ever I saw a kinetic rope, got me out. Quite a learning experience day. Love your Avery.

Wouldve liked to see more of this tractor and how it worked. Looks like a marine sorta boiler on wheels. Could listen to that chap all day. You can tell a guy loves what hes talking about by how he talks about it.

I have to wonder how the engine turns over. It looks like there is a pin opposite of the crankshaft pin . It looks like the pin would keep the engine from turning over.

I thought the same thing, but then realized that is the crank pin. The connecting rod is just hanging from the crosshead, not connected to the crank disk at all.
