Welcome to the LONG VERSION of the final and most spectacular installment of this series! Thanks to Entertainment Tonight, USA Today and Good Morning America, we get a spectacular look inside with the Bradys and get their reactions to this incredible project.
In 2018, HGTV paid 3.5 million dollars for the "real" Brady Bunch house located in Studio City, California. Day and night exteriors of the front of the house were used to match the fictional interiors on stage 5 at Paramount Studios in Hollywood.
If you study the real exterior and the fake interior you'll notice that the 2nd story or split level do not match. That's not stopping HGTV, who says they plan to remodel the house in Studio City so that the interior, which looks nothing like it's fictional counterpart, matches the sets as close as possible. They are going to need a lot of wood paneling and burnt orange Formica!
The real excitement is that HGTV reunited all 6 Brady "kids" for their new show, A Very Brady Renovation. This latest Brady Bunch incarnation will premier in September 2019 to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the original Brady Bunch show debut.
The big question is, who is going to live in the Brady Bunch House? I think we are going to see a 2nd series who's premise is to answer that very question.

It would be cool, but unfortunately, it’s never going to happen. The best you could hope for, is somebody making it into an Airbnb. But I doubt they would do that, because it would be too much wear and tear. The neighborhood is a pretty well off neighborhood and they already are on edge about all of the people who stop by to take pictures. if it were a museum, it would be 100 times worse. Not to mention, there’s no parking for anything like that there. They would have to buy the adjoining properties and knock them down to do so and I doubt the neighbors are going to be very happy about that. not to mention, zoning would never allow it. That entire neighborhood is a Giant filming location... Meaning that, a lot has been filmed within a 5 mile radius of that house. A lot of houses in that neighborhood have been used in different productions. Now imagine if you were the owners of that house and people were stopping by taking pictures in front of it all the time. It is why they originally put the fence up before it got sold to HGTV. Then they removed the fence. Somebody won the house and then sold it and the new owners I’m sure are concerned about overzealous fans. It’s one thing to stand on the street and the sidewalk to take pictures, though there’s going to be some people who want to push it. By knocking on the door or ringing the doorbell to ask to come inside. Which I’m sure has happened or more than one occasion. you also have to understand that whoever bought it spent a lot of money for it. From what I understand, it was north of $3 million. Which is crazy. That house, in my area of Maryland or central PA, would be worth $200,000-$300,000. Possibly a little more, but not too much more. But that is California for you. Take the normal price that people would pay for a house anywhere else and multiply it by 10 times.

Being a native of the great Commonwealth of Kentucky, I finally realized my lifelong dream of visiting Los Angeles and Southern California, but not until I was in my late 40's. Finding The Brady Bunch house was a priority and thankfully my host was understanding of this. He took me to it and I just stood out in the street and stared at it, walking up and down the sidewalk for at least an hour. This was before the HGTV acquisition so Mrs. McCallister was still residing there. I didn't impose on anyone or go beyond the brick fence, I just wanted to experience the house and the neighborhood to allow my dream come true soak in.

Crazy classic show but wow! In the mid 70's they would pump and pump RERUNS of everything in those days. We only had like 6 channels and you might get pissed getting a UHF signal kicking the tv a few times. This show did get more popular like some fine wine that you would respect in the early 80's. Yup that was when I loved this show way after it was off the air. I never had known it was that old then at 6 years old!

I am 60. I absolutely loved this show. I watched the re-runs as I grew up 100s of times. The best night on TV when I was little was Fridays. Brady Bunch and 7 p.m. Partridge Family at 8 p.m. and, Then Night Stalker at 9 p.m. On Friday nights, I could stay up until 10 so it was perfect. I loved all of these characters.

Thank you Classic TV & More!! I didn't know about this show until I came across this video! I will watch the renovation happen and happily drift back into time when things were so much more laid back and everyone was not in such a hurry or with their noses stuck in a phone. This show was one of several that I literally could not get enough off. And I was so in love with Greg Brady as all the girls were, lol. Loved this video so much!! Brings back wonderful memories of the show. My favorite though was when the family went to Hawaii, lol. Anyone else? What was your favorite episode or season?

Even watching that show as a kid, my favorite part was always when they showed those stairs. Those floating stairs like that are so badass and modern looking!! Wasn’t the dad supposed to be like some kind of architect or something? That would have been cool in one of the episodes he could have told a story to the kids about how he designed the house and how the builder tried to talk him out of the stairs, saying it can’t be done. But say kids, it just goes to show you what you can accomplish if you just persevere and stick to your dreams, and don’t give up. Or some kind of fatherly advice like that. Hahahahaha

@@ClassicTVMore with all the work done they should have made it longer than two episodes and not reveal the look of the house weeks before it aired. It was good but could have been spread out over 6-8 one hour eps instead of two 1.5 hour episodes.

@@Anth230 I believe there will be 4 episodes. I too was surprised by the way they showed the whole process from Demo to Reveal for just a few rooms in the first episode. But I don't mind it. It's different. Also, I agree with you that they teased a lot well, maybe too much, before the show aired. Of course, I didn't help in keeping things under wraps either.

I will still watch this show today with memories- my wife says it's too corny. Coming from a broken and poorer home, I still wonder what it would have been like to have a complete family. I liked the morals they had. I would wish for it when I was young. But it could have been worse I guess. I had the biggest crush on the beautiful Marsha.

LOL! Well, considering HGTV paid $3.5 million for it, then a few million more beyond the purchase price to renovate it, and along with ever increasing Southern California real estate values, I'd concur that its safe to say this house is well worth $1 million now too! :)

On the market for $1.8 and sold for $3.5MM? Something tells me that the sellers saw HGTV coming. In my hometown, this house would sell for about $60K. Small rural town prices. But, where I live now, probably $270K. Talk about gouging! I did mention on another video that it seemed impossible to fit the interior into the exterior shell. Never thought about them digging down, which actually makes sense since on the set, you do step down from the foyer into the living room. I actually saw every episode's first run as a kid. Suffice it to say, I'm old. Brings back memories of a simpler time when entertainment didn't depend on profanity, sex and constant violence. Men were men and women were damn glad of it. The show went on the air the same year America set foot on the moon. Back then, astronauts, soldiers, police and firemen were rock stars. Today, it's all about Hollywood and fake "reality shows". I'd go back in a second and wouldn't miss my cell phone one bit. We got by just fine without the evils of today. I'm wondering if this is going to set off a TV home renovation trend. What's famous/iconic TV home is next? Just hope the cost to buy the exteriors doesn't go up.

I remember the first time watching the show after school in the 80’s. And of course, we all wished we lived in that house. I’m 52 and I still watch reruns now that are currently on MeTv 😂 i knew HGTV had purchased the house and was going to be doing renovations but I never ended up by watching the episodes. But I made sure to catch the Holiday Special when it came out. I love Christmas and I still have it on my PVR 😂 It was fun and cute to watch at the same time. I did shed a tear when Barry made the toast at the dinner table about Robert Reed, Anne B Davis and Florence Henderson, and what Maureen commented. My question is, i wonder how they feel about not being able to shed their Brady roles by fans?
