I have such fond memories of watching this as a 12 year old. We were obsessed with DOND as a family and this was just the ultimate for me, the first one my family saw win the quarter of a million and for a bankers’ gamble to get her to a situation between 1p and a quarter of a million she would be remembered either way. When the £250,000 was revealed my Dad cheered really loudly and my Mum who missed it was out on the porch with a friend and they came running in. Such fond memories and I grew out of this show as you do but I don’t think any moment felt as good after this.

@@Britinsweden No need to apologise! Like you say, you didn’t know. While the UK do invent & export a *lot* of shows as you’re probably aware of, this wasn’t one of them. Same deal applies to The Traitors (no pun intended), that was also invented in The Netherlands & is called De Varraders (it’s the exact translation of ‘The Traitors’). You may be aware or have seen the production company Endemol Shine at the end of several TV programme credits, Endemol were the Dutch company who invented Big Brother, which made them very rich after they exported that to the UK & around the world, creating lots of Endemol sub companies which operate here today. As a normal person you will never get another chance to win £250,000 at 50/50 odds without putting your financial stability at risk. Fair play for having the bottle to do it; cracking KZbin recommendation.
@marlowemarlowe48933 ай бұрын
But she only had to risk £17,500 to get a 50-50 chance of winning £250,000. Which is fantastically generous odds. You'd be a fool not to take those odds. I appreciate that £17,500 might have been a lot of money to her that she didn't want to lose. But she would have been silly not to take the gamble. I believe that the shows producers wanted someone to win £250,000 so that's why they gave her such generous odds.

Risk 17,000 pounds when you could've gone home with a penny. It looks good when it goes right but she can't be hard-pressed for cash if she's willing to risk that much. Very risky and not really a calculated risk when you're opening two identical boxes with no idea what's in each. But luckily it paid off so no one cares now haha

ok so, put yourself in this theoretical position. you can have £2million or a 50/50 chance of either £0, or £50 million. although i agree that she should always take the gamble, because £17k isnt enough for most to deny the 13/1 ish odds she was offered, the above situation should make you realise, its not always that simple. If this were a homeless person in her shoes, then they should almost certainly take the £17,500.

Daniel Daw what a stupid straw man comparison. Fact is if she had taken the 17.5k she would have lost 232.5k... So the choices was this. Lose 17.5k or lose 232.5k either way there was only one choice and that was go for the 1/4 million.

WOW ! How intense was that? What a brave lady , she deserves it 😁

They hammed that up 9 min of thinking about it
@2icelollys1goat5 жыл бұрын
Full on hamming at its best. Some of the poses adopted/faces pulled by her, and the other 14 gimps, were pure cringe. Shows like this are when you realise the worst of American culture has invaded our screens

Asphalt Ricky For sure. And as if that isn't bad enough, we've got Noel Edmunds to top it all off.

Amazing to think she somehow never chose the 1p. If she had chosen 1p box in that final round the banker's gamble would never have been in play. Not getting rid of the lowest price ended up giving her the biggest prize.

Why is it in my recommended October 2018 ? More than a year later😶

I was praying she would not swap as I am sure The Banker or SOMEONE knew what was in her box ( someone put it there after all. lol ) and it was obviously a GIVEAWAY as The Banker ( of all people) would not, normally, be so insane as to offer someone FIFTEEN TIMES MORE if they guess right on a " 50/50 " call. lol

Yeah independent adjudicator seals all the boxes and is the only person who knows where the amounts are

If you believe that then you probably believe that the lottery isn't rigged.

@@RUBBER_BULLET Why would the lottery be rigged then? And how?
@andrewguthrie25 жыл бұрын
Isleofsky They normally only do shit gambles like that with other people's money.
@Isleofskye5 жыл бұрын
True but a 10 year old would not give you 14 times more on a "50/50" call ! lol The "other people" were in on it as The Banker is the last person to be irresponsible like that :)

Can't believe she didn't hug noel he looks a bit left out
@Isleofskye5 жыл бұрын
I know you would have just won £250,000 to change the rest of your life but still, in context, would you have wanted to hug Noel ??

She is now practising for the next Summer Olympics as The 2020 Olympics will introduce masturbation as a "demonstration sport."Male and female masturbation are treated as two separate disciplines, and each requires different skill sets to perfect it. Kevin Stagg is the current male world champion of masturbation and holds all-time world records in Speed Masturbation (2.5 seconds), Distance Masturbation (51ft 8in) and Weight Release (29.3 oz).

If you deal to box 23 and it says double, you can get two weeks worth of groceries.

Love how the shows made a comeback, shame they’ve got rid of the quarter of million pounds, and Noel isn’t hosting unfortunately, but it’s Stephen mulhern he’s funny so not all bad
