Can opthalmologists tell the difference between age related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy on examination without knowing the patients medical history?
@intuitknit9 ай бұрын
Can you tell me what retinal changes you would expect to see in someone who has had severe early onset preeclampsia? The recent research indicates that these women experience a greater risk of retinal problems long term but the specifics are not clear.

Why does the anti-vegf work for non-proliferate diseases? For example for Mac edema in npdrp or vein occlusion with Mac edema? In both cases the edema is not due to proliferation..
@merivukicevic7936 Жыл бұрын
The anti-vegf dries up the accumulated sub or intra retinal fluid. Obviously it's more complicated than this but hopefully this helps you www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/08820538.2023.2176239

Help! I have just had my annual diabetic retinopathy eye screening, and have just received a letter telling me I have some background eye retinopathy. Am I going to go blind? I am male and 62 years old and also have Nystagmus from birth, and Astigmatism.
@merivukicevic79363 жыл бұрын
Hi Gary, I can't give any opinion on that. You must ask your eye specialist based on your specific signs and symptoms what your prognosis is. I wish you all the very best.

@@merivukicevic7936 I have just recently began seeing faint looking twinkling stars when my eyes are closed, just after coming from a brightly lit room. I hope that is not something else to worry about.
