Lucas what? Aboriginal people are 4% if the population and get HALF the funding. The issue is they just get drunk and have kids and then can't support the huge families they make. My daughter would NEVER go missing. But maybe when you have 7 of them and you're busy getting drunk while fishing that's a norm. It's not the oppressive white man, fuck that shit. They get free education, tax exempt and have guaranteed spots in medical school

Lord Gnarly Bus , first of all I wasn't trying to make anyone feel bad for me. I was explaining how deeply he has helped me as well as millions of other people, across all races, sexes, religions, paygrades or power. His music is real. It's not made for the masses to make money. He puts music out to hopefully. Maybe connect and make a difference in someone's life. Or maybe even save one. .... You call me pathetic for commending a man that has done all you see and way more all on his own!!!! You might want to look in the mirror before you go jumping behind a keyboard and acting tough..

Respect!!! Props to the musicians like Gord Downie and Classified for bringing up a true problem in Canada. The government has forced native communities into seclusion where the kids have no roll models. The woman have no rights. And the government has done a great job hiding and ignoring this issues. Most canadians take pride in being Canadian and what we stand for. Not even realizing our history has been made by the oppression over the very culture that began this country. We as a country and the government need to finally wake up and bring life back to the communities and culture that began the country we are supposed to be so proud of
@jimmyb95674 жыл бұрын
I am a native I don’t like how you said we don’t have rights or no role models that’s not true. Many Natives take their lives for the shit we go through it’s not easy being Aboriginal. but I like the fact you’re putting it out there many people don’t realize what we went through.

@@jimmyb9567 i am plains cree. I've had many of my elders put through the ringer for the Canadian governments benefits. I've also spent some time in Northern Cree reservations if you can call them that. Yes natives do have rights for sure. But a lot of the reservations feel forgotten. Yes they can act upon some of the rights. But most they can't because they have nothing up there. Even some deal with corruption of there own band council and can't do anything about it.

Hearing this song especially touches home for myself. Being raised in chaos became neutral to me, no matter how hard my single mother tried to distance myself and my brothers lives from the abuse, i Was the one to suffer. It took the majority of my life to come to terms with the fact that my father was a sick man...... unfortunately because I was the youngest and given the circumstances of being a little girl I was the most vulnerable to the majority of the abuse. No matter how much my mother fought to keep us away...the courts always gave a “second chance” to my father... they deemed him a second chance... for the reasons that my adolescent word was not enough to be charged with....unfortunately the court oversaw what my father was mentally capable of.... as a child It was a terrifying experience to go through... Eventually there’s an end to it all. Mine didn’t come without a struggle... I was eight years old when I last saw my father... my brothers myself as well as my step mother were all lined up in the living room with a gun held to our heads....! At 8yrs old I was saying my prayers and kissing my brother goodbye....It wasn’t until that moment when the police finally bursted down that door and rescued us, that I felt human again. As the years have passed, I am a mother myself now and I have learned that we have the ability to change and grow from our setbacks.....

Dude. This is powerful and well timed. Stay strong and keep fighting. People need the voices of others when theirs fail.

Thank you Classified for shedding some much needed light on a subject that is pretty much being ignored by our Canadian Government, the media and society. Much respect, Chi-Miigwetch.

I remember when Maisy Odjick and Shannon Alexander went missing. My heart still hurts for their family. I am from the sister reserve, Pikwakanagan. This song is so powerful ❤️ there really needs to be more attention brought to this!

Fa-Q for poking me in the feels.... Thank you for petting my feels.... So to speak.. This man speaks to my empath. Empowers me to embrace the intense feeling, that can make me feel "powerless". One of a handful of artists I turn to. Thank you for being human.
