Hi Dr. Bill! Can depth also refer to water? For example, if you are describing the depth of water at a beach being shallow at the beginning?

Yes. We have a sign for shallow but it also means "surface." Sometimes it might be better to just sign "not deep."

I suppose I could -- but the main principle of Lifeprint is to teach signs based on frequency of usage rather than word categories. The recommended way to teach others ASL via Lifeprint is to actually follow the lesson plans: www.lifeprint.com/asl101/lessons/lessons.htm
