Honestly, I started off with anime, I didn't really care about slightly back quality of animation if the story is amazing. I binged watched all 3 seasons, in just 2 days (I am a seasonal anime watcher, so I don't really watch anime too often) After season 3 was done, I was craving for the next part of the story. And then I decided to check out the Light Novel. It had a great amount of details, which was actually important for a story like classroom of the elite to be explained completely. I am currently on 2nd year first novel. chapter 5.4 ( I started reading yesterday) Compared to the intricacy in the LNs, Anime had to shorten a lot of the details because of time constraint. Fitting a lot of material in just 23 minutes of episodes is kind of hard, and I understand that. I am glad I found about this story, and obviously glad that detailed light novel exists. I personally feel like if you want to really enjoy the story, go for LN, and if you are allergic to reading, anime is your only hope which, don't get me wrong, is not bad if you are looking for the story, although it doesn't have cutting edge animations, I personally believe it is good enough to enjoy. and about manga, well, again, the story is great, so it makes up for the goofy af panels. Still, if you enjoy manga, you can check out the story that way. Answering the question, Is "classroom of the elite" bad? No, not at all, if we are talking about the story (which means LN because it is the source material after all) it is 11/10 in my opinion. As for anime, it is a solid 8/10. Let me remind u that i am a season anime viewer, so i am easily satisfied (that's what she sa-) and I tried the manga for like 3 chapters. Although it misses out on quite a lot of details, but still able to convey the gist of the story, so i am not complaining, but if you are going to read it anyway, just go for the LNs. Manga is like, 5/10

As you said, i would love to see year 2 animated ONLY, if it done by a studio that is actually passionate about this series, knows what they are doing, and Kadokawa actually allocates more than 13 episodes.

Yep. I initially wanted to REALLY crap on Lerche in this vid but I understand it might not be all their fault. So I held back. Though, they're the studio responsible for the trash animation so they deserve at least some corn.

The anime will never be a 1 to 1 adaptation of the LN. When news came out the season would only be 13 episodes, that should have made it all the more clear lol once you let go of that expectation, you will enjoy the anime

Yeah I understand the circumstances. A 1-to-1 adaptation was never on the cards. I did enjoy following it weekly but I can't make a case for it being good

never seems to dissapoint me top quality videos as always and tbh i think ayanokoji's character has not been brought to light yet we still dont know his capacity / weakness since we are the veiwers it should only be fair if we knew everyones weakness and strenghts and its un real how perfect he is it does get boring.

In regards to ayanokoji, Shōgo Kinugasa himself said that the anime portrayed ayanokoji right, in fact ayanokoji initially is a different character in the light novel but after the anime both ayanokojis became similiar, so that's not a critique, the anime always did ayanokoji right. I don't get those who say that the anime is slow paced, it's exactly the opposites the anime is too rushed, a single volume is portrayed in like 3 episodes wtf. I agree on the animation part, season 1 looks better than s2 and 3 and it came out in 2017, but overall i like the anime, like many people it was my introduction to the series, but i'd say that as an anime it is still good, i watch it with a friend of mine who hasn't read the novels, and yeah sometimes i have to explain him what happened but overall it's still enjoyable, the fact is that ayanokoji is such an interesting character to read and to watch

The changes in the anime are too bad for me to defend. I appreciate that someone can though. What I said slow paced, I meant the tone of the show, lack of urgency, etc. Not how time passes.

Think u might be confusing art with animation. The art for S3 was the best the show looked so far imo, majority of the drawing's for the characters were on point, only 1 episode looked 'off'. This isn't a series that needs a ton of fluid animation, it literally mainly consists of characters just talking and walking.

There were some really bad moments in the middle chunk area. I think the first two episodes were part of the better looking ones. I'll look out for those moments you mentioned on my next run

how much better is the LN? just finished s3 and it was all over the place. things just happen and one random background character pushes the plot a littler further at a time. seemingly important changes have no room to breathe and are just ignored later on/no payoff like the second student president. dragon boy appears just every now and then and gets better with little to no explanation. the only great character is koenji for his flamboyant behaviour and his mystique.

COTE and Mushoku Tensei LNs are currently competing to be my favourite. There's recency bias but there's truth in my answer. If you don't want just want my opinion, fair enough. Just did a quick search on Google and COTE Year 2 LN (next 3 seasons if they follow the current model) ended up being top 5 in best selling Light novels in the first half of 2023 (Mushoku Tensei LN was the best selling digital LN on Book Walker in 2023, no manga did better on the platform either).

this show has kinda meh to me now, it feels stall as a show now. I'm skipping S3 for now and started watching Tomadachi Game. Very similar plot with 4 friends and getting into dangerous situations but every episode feels really good and close to the manga.
