When I was younger and I didn’t really want to go to recess, my friends and I would go and help out my teacher in her classroom. Whether it be filing, or stapling, or sorting. It helped our teacher have time to grade, so now she offers it to all of her classes every year. It worked well for her, and it could help you if you needed it. Love the vlogs so far, keep up the good work!

When we were learning our early history unit, they never really talked to us about how we could be the people in the stories. It felt more like we were being told how other people (mainly men) were changing the world back then and how it is hard to change the world now. I wish they taught us about how people are changing the world now, and how we can contribute.

She has two more years left in a five year program. It seems overwhelming to both of us about how all the curriculum/IBM/benchmark/guided reading/and everything else comes together. Quick question: I know you got you book bins from The Dollar Tree, and was wondering how did you get so many of all the same color? To order online you get a variety of colors and I've been to four store and they have none? I honestly can't see spending a fortune at other places. I work at a Catholic school and we get paid very little and have no supplies unless we purchase them.

Most staplers have the option to do so, just tug on the bottom of the stapler (the base) so it’s flat and just push on the top like normal to staple.

I tried the clothespin work display thingy the first year I taught...I quickly replaced. It is super cute, but unless you are holding up a piece of cardstock or heavier, it doesn't work great. Hot glue also didn't hold well on top of the paper. It was just a hot mess.

We have just adopted Benchmark this year and I like the idea of getting the resources out of the cardboard and into sterilize (?) drawers. Yours look so user-friendly! Where did you get that? Also, our district opted not to get the computerized option for Benchmark assessment because we are not a 1:1 school. Do you have the computerized version? I would love to get my data that way... Btw, I teach 4th grade ELA, Science, and Social Studies in Oklahoma.

you should have something like a chart, if a student does a good deed like help a another student without being asked, they should get a star or something. at the end of the month, there could be an award like they get to take home something for the weekend or they get to bring something to class and share it will the class like a show and tell. it could work with paying it forward. opening a door for someone or picking up something off the floor that some else dropped.
