Some really interesting opinions discussed here on this important topic. Would be interesting to re-visit with the same guests 12 months down the track.

Some similar concerns were (justifiably) raised about the influence of wikipedia on student learning. Though not capable of writing essay style answers, or answering specific STEM problems, the single-page summarisations have (for better of worse) saved countless library hours for many students.

Glad Spencer made the point re: students (even at top universities, like his) having read considerably less than they would have in generations past. It feels like there is often a tacit acceptance of this sad trend.
