I've noticed a recurring issue with videos by people not noticing that the Acid Soaker is meant to work more like the Syringer in that it is not a primary weapon at all. It's main bonus is that it temporarily decreases your target's Damage Resistance by 50 for around 5 seconds. So what you are supposed to do is to shoot them once or twice to make sure they are hit and quickly switch out to another main gun and take advantage of the lower armor.

Have you actually modded it and used it? Massive damage per shot with a blast effect. Slow reload and ammo is a bit expensive (not terrible, but still Quantum isn't unlimited unless you craft it as well...) but not a bad weapon. I've got my main character using it as one of my main weapons (along with a Nuka Blaster I downloaded) and the Quantum Machete. I tend to use the thing almost like a grenade launcher (fire into a group of enemies and then switch weapons).

He's not speced into Gunslinger so the damage sucks for his level. The WR is also unmodded so it is at base damage. For a Gunslinger build it is effectively equal to a sniper rifle. He had the same problem with the basic full-auto handmade earlier in the vid. In FO4 weapon mods and perk choice is key to dealing with enemies effectively. The one problem I have with NW weapons is the dual perk requirement for upgrades. While playing in the main Commonwealth zone I got an awesome WR at lvl 30ish, almost 10 levels before I can even pick Gun Nut 4, so I can't even make basic mods for it yet.

blitz is really two perks at the most, and with a sniper build you may already have better crits and will DEFINITELY have taken ninja, and even deacons companion perk. so you'll get 12x with a sneak attack and twice that with a crit, which is insane even without any strength.

The catch behind the Acid Soaker is that you’re supposed to hit an enemy with it to reduce their armor rating, then switch to a ballistic weapon to do more damage with it while they still take minor DoT damage (making it kind-of like Corrosion in Borderlands 1). In practice it’s just crap, in no small part due to the expense of creating ammo for it.

The western revolver is fantastic with gunjitsu when upgraded as usually it does enough damage to really make use of the bonus damage to clear a room in one go

Jon's (ManyATrueNerd) melee character has some of these over 500 damage as a basis, with sneak x 12, I.E. more than 6000 hits. That one-shots everything. I believe a few of them are over 600. Melee is OP in FO4, though of course if you sneak up on someone with a baseball bat or knife or sword, you can choose to hit their vitals and do extra damage, etc., so perhaps it is justified. But still... a cal .50 AM Rifle in the real world can take out vehicles and a near miss will kill you as well from the sheer air pressure (at least that is what I was told in the Army), so... Melee OP, AM Rifles UP...

Those handmade rifles are hands down the best ballistic weapon in the game, the Splattercannon especially as the +15% gets applied to the damage of the shot that immediately preceded it which allows for a staggering ammount of damage on a commando type character.

There's actually a mod that includes a 44. pistol that never misses, as long as you ADS on them, even if u look away it still hits. It's called John Martson's 44. Name of the mod and pistol I think.

Sad thing is on my save, I have the Splattercannon but I can NEVER use it because as I keep getting consecutive hits, my FPS drops like crazy from 60FPS to 40FPS then 25FPS and finally 5FPS

I can't play this DLC along with Far Harbor, Automatron and Vault-tec Workshop without crashing. And when the game quicksaves and autosaves, it takes 1-2 whole minutes until it saves while walking/running around... Is there anyone who can anyone help me with this? Or there's something wrong within the saves? I also have mods installed (UFO4P, cheat terminal, unbreakable power armor, infinite ammo and unbreakable power armor for companions, desert ranger helmet and outfit and plunketts helmet and plunketts duster). I'm on Xbox one btw... Please help! :(

The long save time is due to hardware issues. You need a solid state hard drive. You should also probably clean up your saves. Take your old saves and back them up in a new location.

+Oxhorn By clean my saves you mean clear the cache right? I've been doing that many times and no avail. And unfortunately I can't back up saves on xbox one but its saves through the cloud. Although, I'm gonna take your advice and get an external SSD, the game is useless without it. Thanks for the reply btw! Really do appreciate it 👍

You're welcome. But no, what I meant was that as your hard drive starts getting filled with save files (it generates a new one each time you manually save), loading saves and saving new saves starts to slow down. On the PC, I get around this by periodically clearing out my old save files (archiving them on an external HD). But that was before I knew you played on xbox, so I don't know if this is possible. It also helps to reduce the size of save files by looting absolutely everything you can find, scrapping it, or storing it in containers. This will help improve save and load times.

+Oxhorn Yeah microsoft decided not to be able to back up saves and copy them to another HD... apparently it prevents tampering. Instead, it saves both on the cloud and the HD and I don't I can access both of them and copy them to an external HD... Kinda sucks Anyway thanks for the help and everything, really ☺🖒🖒
