Simply beautiful. Debussy has long been my favorite composer. This earlier music before he really got into whole tone and unusual harmonies was just as magnificent as his later music when he became known as the founder of impressionist music, a description he never liked or accepted.

I know the music of Debussy quite well, whom I consider a revolutionary and brilliant composer, but I missed this lyric poem. Wonderful atmospheres, which seem to arise from a dream, like others of the Maestro. Thanks for posting the Damoiselle Elue. 🧡

Of course debussys academy criticized this work for being "bizzare". To push for new ground always creates a certain unease in the surrounds. Progress and genius is controversial in its own time.

@@annebrewer7882 Sorry the late my reply ! Thank-you so much to your reply ! How is New York ? Tokyo grievances are improving . Countries in the world , including Japan and USA , will be the critical moment from now on . There is still the potential for second or third fear to flood the world . We must be never careless . In Tokyo , the rainy season of our discontent and grumbling comes over . It's indispensable to growth of the rice , but gloomy days last nearly one month to us . After a rainy season is over , all shines , and hot and heat summer to be full of dynamism comes over . By the way , please listen to Dvorak 's 「 Song to the moon 」 while watching the moon of New York . So your soul will be purified by this masterpiece . I watch 「Elementary Holms 」on TV . Shin-i-chi Kozima hello, New York is warming up, with lots of flowers and trees blooming. The air smells nice for once, of nature. We had a lot of rain last month but it is over now. I wish you a pleasant summer, with lots of good weather and plentiful crops. New York City is United in the Black Lives Matter movement, God has blessed us even in bad times. I am lucky to be able to stay at home with my birds this summer.
