This is elegant and yet it stirs the emotions. So very beautiful and calming at the same time. Debussy was different, an enigma. Thank you for sharing.

For a moment, 5 minutes and 28 seconds to be exact, the world around me stopped. My consciousness halted and I was taken on the calmest thought ride of my life. I have never felt so before quite like this. I stumbled on this song by chance, and I see this music playing a huge role in my life now until the end. Thank you....

This music really speaks to me. I love lots of different types of piano music, but nothing is quite the same as Debussy. He just never fails to surprise me with every decision he writes down. He literally found a way to take sounds and perfectly express visuals.. like, it blows me away.

Robert Humber Thank you for your comment. I agree with you about Debussy's harmonies. Did you see the other video Prelude a l'apres midi d'un faune Claude Debussy - Prélude à l'après-midi d'un faune (Prelude to the afternoon of a fawn)
@robohumby1510 жыл бұрын
+Poesias Preferidas Sure did. I love them both, the orchestra in my music school played Afternoon of the Faun last year. All of Debussy's work reminds me of nature itself. So free flowing, it's like it's sprouting up from the Earth. And I'm not even trying to sound dramatic, it's just THAT good.
@Idamonica110 жыл бұрын
Robert Humber Oh, sure! The harmonies carry our souls for these beautiful images of nature with sensitivity and softness. forests, sea, water... sirenes... Clair the lune... I cannot resist... Your soul is like a landscape fantasy, Where masks and Bergamasks, in charming wise, Strum lutes and dance, just a bit sad to be Hidden beneath their fanciful disguise. Singing in minor mode of life's largesse And all-victorious love, they yet seem quite Reluctant to believe their happiness, And their song mingles with the pale moonlight, The calm, pale moonlight, whose sad beauty, beaming, Sets the birds softly dreaming in the trees, And makes the marbled fountains, gushing, streaming-- Slender jet-fountains--sob their ecstasies. Paul Verlaine

Every once in a while someone comes along with talent like this. And when I say talent I mean skill paired with real, creative, human emotion that speaks so loudly without words. This peice has so much to offer. Beauty, sorrow, contentment... Gentleness like a swan, and still more. It's rest and a chance to remember for the old and tired, and a pull for those who are still young to go and experience the fullness of life, untainted beauty, and love. Inspiring is an understatement for Debussy. And to pair this wonderful music with such beautiful paintings and photographs... Absolutely magical. Thank you for this

Debussy was the music monster. A monster in a good kind of way...really talented. This dude really lights my fire; and I know he is long dead and gone. All the pieces I ever worked on was his. While rehearsing, I lose it sometimes and cry like a baby.

Debussy had access to thoughts of another reality (wherever it is). His music speaks for itself. You can write a story based on this music. Each time a different one. This is fuel for imagination.

I wish I knew advanced mathematics... This was the reality that he had a grasp of... Where reality, mathematics, and music flowed as one... This song mimick a the Fibonacci Sequence. And The Golden Ratio mathematical formula.

From what I understand this is one of the most beautiful mathematical music peices in existence... The musical notes mimick the Fibonacci Sequence.. It's the sequence of keys marked by the intervals of a descending Fibonnaci sequence - 34, 21, 13 and 8. The main climax of the song rests on the mathematic formula called the Golden Ratio (or φ position). Crazy huh?

Bach's Crab Canon probably trounces this in terms of mathematical precision, but Debussy is incomparable in his ability to tap the "Yugen" one can experience in the discovery of beauty in mathematics.

Good stories don't make me calm. Good stories wake me up, open my eyes and make me think. They challenge me. How can i feel calm and relaxed when my soul is being asked a question in the form of music? For most, this music is what they sleep to. For me, it is my call to war against the never ending injustice found in the world around me.

The sky is pink and orange, the weather is warm with a cool breez that runs through your hair. Your walking through a feild, the grwss weist height brushing against your fingertips, you can smell the trees and feel nothing but submission to the cosmos leading to a lake, and there you see it, the reflections in the water.
