I've recently been getting into DBD and I was hoping someone can explain some of the game to me? Would be appreciated :) I'm really confused with hexes

It's basically (hide and seek with serial killers) 4 survivors trying to escape from 1 aggressor, both parties having been brought together by some malicious otherworldly entity who is entertaining and feeding itself with the fear of the survivors. Each survivor and each killer have their own separate backstories as to who they were before they were captured by "The Fog" and brought to this place. Hexes are abilities that the killers can use in order to give themselves bonus points while playing, and making it harder for survivors to get their objectives done, which is to activate 5 generators across the maps in order to power exit doors to escape. Depending on which side you are playing, your objectives are different. The survivors obviously have the objective to escape alive, while the killers want to sacrifice you as a survivor to The Entity to gain its favor. Beyond that there are daily challenges, and Tome challenges that can be performed by both survivors and killers to gain extra points to put towards leveling up overall.

@@lizy9117 Hexes are Killer perks, which are tied to Totems- little collection of bones found along the map, of which there are five every game (fun fact they usually spawn in a star formation, like a hex!) If a survivor comes across a fire totem aka 'Lit totem' that means the killer has a hex perk active, and if the survivor team breaks it, it will most cases negate the ability and the killer will no longer be able to use it (most cases) For example hex ruin will regress generators if gens are left unworked on, if ohm destroys the lit totem, the killer will no longer have it The exception case: If ohm breaks what he Thinks was ruin and sees that ruin is still active, that means the killer has the Exception to all this and also has the Hex Undying perk, which basically puts another lit totem on the game, and the first one survivors cleanse is the undying totem, they have to also find the other lit one to get rid of ruin
