In the novel , Claudia is 5 years old when she is turned. In the 1994 film she is closer to 10 years old. In this series, she is turned at 14, an adolescent, caught between prepubescent and young adult. Her mind has grown but her body never develops.

The pace really picks up once Claudia entered the picture. It's wild that they were originally going to try to do the whole plot of the Interview with the Vampire novel in seven episodes of TV instead of splitting it into two seasons the way they did. The pacing would have been ridiculous (which is how I feel watching the 1994 movie now). I'm glad you're going from one episode right into the next one. Looking forward to seeing what you thought about episode five!

I don't think Lestat wants a child calling him any sort of father. He doesn't need that kind of connection; Louis does. He only really acknowledges her as his child this season when he's pissed off that she doesn't want to be his child anymore.

Ngl I did not like this version of Claudia. Season 2 recast is better tho

Bailey and Delainey both ate this role. Though you also have to understand that during this season Claudia is still a teen for the most part. Season 2 was gonna require stronger acting chops anyway cause it was the most crucial section of her story.
